DescriptionThe whole story▼
Rain turns enduro trails into a different sport: clay becomes slick, streams swell and every descent is a test of brake control. For riders of a KTM 250 EXC-F from 2006 to 2023 who keep riding when the weather turns, Accossato offers the AGPP80 rear pad in the Sintered compound. The maker says it keeps a high, constant grip level at low and high temperatures and works well in the wet, so the rear pedal stays predictable through a whole muddy day.
Key Features
- Sintered rear pads AGPP80ST
- KTM 250 EXC-F, 2006 to 2023
- Accossato: constant grip, cold or hot
- Good performance on a wet disc
- For rainy trail days and slick clay
- One box for the rear caliper
- No ABE; off-road sport
Construction and Material Quality
According to Accossato, the Sintered compound holds a high and constant grip level across temperatures and continues to perform in the wet. At the rear of an enduro bike ridden in the rain, that means a pedal whose response does not change as water and mud build up. The friction layer is bonded to the AGPP80 plate. Accossato, based today in Villastellone near Turin, also designs its pads to resist fading.
Rain on the Trail
On wet clay, the front tyre offers very little grip, and riders rely heavily on the rear brake to control speed. Each time the bike splashes through a stream or puddle, the rear disc is soaked. A compound that grips well on a wet disc means the rider does not lose braking at the moment it is most needed.
Muddy rides call for thorough cleaning afterwards. Wash the rear caliper, check that the pads can move and look for grit that could damage the disc. When changing pads, inspect the disc surface, clean the piston before pushing it back and press the pedal until it is firm.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPP80 fits the rear brake of the KTM 250 EXC-F from 2006 to 2023, as listed by Accossato. Its front partner is the AGPA29, and the discs DK017, DK018 and DK259 are also part of Accossato's range for this model. Organic and STMX are the alternative AGPP80 compounds.
Road Approval
No ABE or approval mark for these Sintered rear pads is in our files; they are for off-road sport.
Scope of Delivery
Two Sintered AGPP80 pads in one box, for the rear caliper.
