DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Roadmaster fully packed for a fortnight, with a passenger on board, puts real weight over the rear wheel. Accossato's rear pad in the Sintered (ST) compound is meant for Indian Roadmaster owners of the 2015 to 2023 generation who tour in any weather and use the rear brake to settle the bike on long descents. The company says the mixture keeps a steady grip whether hot or cold and works well in the wet.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) rear pads for the Indian Roadmaster, 2015 to 2023
- Consistent grip across temperatures, according to Accossato
- Good wet-weather performance
- Steady pedal with a passenger and luggage
- One box: two pads for the rear caliper
- Front pad AGPA38 listed for the same bike
- Offered for racing use in Germany
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato says the sintered compound holds a high and constant grip level at low and high temperatures and continues to grip well on a wet disc. For a heavy tourer's rear brake, that means the pedal feel on a cold morning is similar to the feel after a long downhill stretch. The company also claims slow wear and less fade from controlled heat. It does not publish its material recipe.
Two-Up on Wet Mountain Roads
Descending a pass in the rain with a passenger, a Roadmaster rider often uses the rear brake to trim speed and keep the chassis settled before each turn. A sintered pad stays consistent through that sort of work. It is also a good match for riders who keep the bike on the road through autumn and early spring. If your Roadmaster is used mainly for short, dry trips, the Organic rear pad is a quieter alternative. Remember that the rear disc on a big tourer runs close to the exhaust and luggage, so a quick look at the pad depth before a long trip is time well spent on any Roadmaster.
Fitment and Compatibility
Rear pad AGPA81 is listed by Accossato for the Indian Roadmaster between 2015 and 2023, with all five versions from the maker's list included in their years. A single box covers the rear caliper, and the front takes AGPA38. Clean the pistons, check the disc surface and bed the new pads in before loading the bike up.
Road Approval
We have not received any approval documents for these rear pads, so we list them for racing and competition use in Germany.
