DescriptionThe whole story▼
Descending a mountain road on a Honda CBR 1000 RR-R SP Fireblade, a rider uses the rear brake to hold the bike on a steady line into each bend while the front does the main work. Conditions can change quickly in the mountains, with cold shade, wet patches and sudden rain. For the rear of the 2020 to 2025 SP, Accossato lists the AGPA42 and supplies it with the Sintered mixture as article AGPA42ST. The factory promises high and constant grip whether the pad is cold or hot, and good response in the wet.
Key Features
- Sintered rear pads for the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R SP, 2020 to 2025
- Article AGPA42ST
- Even grip across temperature, as Accossato describes it
- Reliable in rain and on damp roads
- Helps hold a steady line on long descents
- One box for the single rear caliper
- OR and ZXC share this outline
- No German ABE on file, sold for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes this mixture in terms of stable grip: high and unchanged across the temperatures a rear pad sees, from a cold start to the end of a long descent, and dependable when wet. For the SP, that means a rear pedal that behaves the same at the top of the pass as at the bottom. The manufacturer's general claims of long life, heat control that reduces fade and strong braking also apply. The carrier is the AGPA42 shape for all versions.
Holding a Line Downhill
On a winding descent, a light drag of rear brake keeps the chassis settled as the rider transitions from braking to turning. The less the rear pad varies, the more precise that input can be. On wet sections, a smooth pad also reduces the chance of the rear tyre stepping out under a firm press.
Before a mountain trip, inspect the rear pads and disc, check that the fluid has not darkened, and clean off any grime from the caliper. Fitting new pads calls for a clean piston and several presses of the pedal until it is firm. Allow some gentle stops on the way to the hills to bed the pads in properly.
Fitment and Compatibility
AGPA42ST is listed for the rear of the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R SP from 2020 to 2025, with one caliper to fit. For the front, Accossato lists the AGPA106 for the SP from 2022 to 2025; the 2020 and 2021 bikes are not covered by that article. There is no Accossato disc listed for this version at the moment.
Road Approval
The SP rear set in Sintered comes without any ABE or German approval paperwork on our side and is sold for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Two Sintered pads for the one rear caliper of the SP.
