DescriptionThe whole story▼
Autumn does its worst to a rear brake. Wet leaves in the shade of a hedge, gravel washed across a bend by the last downpour, mud dragged onto a lane by a tractor: most of it reaches the back of the bike and a good deal of it ends up on the disc. Accossato presses the AGPA42 rear pad in the Sintered (ST) material for riders who keep using a CFMOTO CL-X 700 SPORT through that season, and lists it for the 2022 model year.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the CFMOTO CL-X 700 SPORT, 2022 model year
- Article number AGPA42ST: the AGPA42 carrier in the Sintered (ST) material
- Accossato promises a constant grip level cold or hot and reliable response in the wet
- For autumn lanes, winter commuting and dirty roads
- One box contains the two pads a caliper needs
- The OR and ZXC materials share this carrier
- The front wheel of this roadster takes the AGPA106, also 2022
- No German ABE documented; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Constant behaviour is the promise here: comparable grip whether the disc is cold or hot, and a dependable response when it is wet. At the back of a motorcycle that matters in a specific way. The rear brake is worked by a foot, usually while the rider is looking at something else entirely, and its feedback arrives through a boot sole rather than through fingertips. A material that answers the same way on a filthy disc as on a clean one keeps that crude channel of information honest, which is the whole point of using the pedal in poor conditions.
Leaves, Gravel and a Greasy Bend
Poor grip changes how a rider uses the back brake, and usually increases it. On a slippery lane the pedal is the gentler instrument: a light, progressive press settles the CL-X 700 SPORT without asking the front tyre to do anything sudden, and anyone who has been caught out once under a dripping tree tends to remember the lesson. Those applications happen at low speed, on a disc coated with whatever the rear tyre has just picked up off the road.
Keeping the back of the machine in order through that season is mostly rinsing and looking. Hose off salt and field mud rather than letting either dry on. Make sure the pedal returns fully and is not holding the pads lightly against the disc, because a rear brake that drags in autumn wears away invisibly. Keep lubricant off the disc face when the chain is oiled, which is the commonest way of spoiling a rear brake. And give new pads a handful of controlled stops before the first greasy descent.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the 2022 CFMOTO CL-X 700 SPORT for this rear pad, and no other year appears against the AGPA42. The two pads in a caliper are replaced as a pair, and a box contains exactly that pair, which at the back of this machine normally means one box per bike. Front pads for the same roadster are listed under the AGPA106 for 2022. The Accossato disc catalogue does not reach this model at either end.
Road Approval
No approval mark and no German ABE have been issued to us for the AGPA42ST, so we keep it among the competition parts, for closed courses.
Scope of Delivery
One box: two AGPA42 pads in the Sintered (ST) material, the pair one caliper takes.
