DescriptionThe whole story▼
Spend a day in the mountains on a Benelli BN302 and the rear brake works harder than anywhere else. Hairpin after hairpin on the way down, the pedal feathered into each one, the pads never given a straight to cool along. Accossato's Sintered (ST) version of the AGPP95 is the rear pad for riders who plan that sort of day, and it is listed for the BN302 in the versions recorded from 2015 to 2019.
Key Features
- Rear pads in the Sintered (ST) compound for the Benelli BN302, article number AGPP95ST
- Listed for the years 2015 to 2019
- Bite that neither falls away with heat nor with rain, according to Accossato
- Suited to long descents and to riding in changeable mountain weather
- One box of two pads fills one caliper
- The OR material is the alternative on the same rear plate
- The catalogue also lists AGPA270 front pads and the DKS032 disc
- No German ABE documented; supplied for track and competition
Construction and Material Quality
What the maker says about the sintered material is that its bite holds steady whether the pad is cold or hot, and that rain does not take it away. Behind the second half of that sentence sits the property Accossato claims for its pads generally, namely that they limit the heat they generate and so fade less than they otherwise would. On a rear brake used continuously downhill, resistance to fading is the whole point. The plate is the same AGPP95, and a box still holds the pair one caliper requires.
Hairpins on the Way Down
Going down a pass is harder on brakes than going up is on an engine. A rider drops through the gears, lets the motor hold the speed and still ends up using the pedal into every corner, and on a light twin the temptation is to leave a boot resting on it between turns. That last habit is what cooks a rear brake: continuous light contact generates heat without ever slowing the bike, and the pedal goes long while the rider wonders why.
Two things help. Take your foot off the pedal between corners so the pad can shed what it has picked up, and use it in short, positive presses rather than a permanent drag. A material designed to stay even as temperature rises tolerates the mistake better, but nothing tolerates it forever. At the bottom of a long descent, give the BN302 a few minutes before parking it hard against a kerb, and take a look at the disc and the fluid at the end of the day.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the rear wheel of the BN302, Accossato records the years 2015 to 2019, spread across the BN 302, the 2016 Tornado, the 302 R and the 302 S as its own list divides them. A single box is usually the whole order for a rear wheel, though the bike itself is the authority on that. The front is covered by the AGPA270 pad and the DKS032 appears as the disc for this Benelli, while the OR compound offers a gentler character on this same rear plate.
Road Approval
There is no ABE for the AGPP95ST in our files and no certificate we could quote. The pad is offered for competition and for closed circuits, which is the only use we can document it for.
