DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Dorsoduro 900 loaded for a long weekend is a different machine. A tail pack, a pair of soft panniers and a full tank put weight behind the rider, the rear suspension sits lower, and the rear brake suddenly has something to do on every downhill stretch and at every set of lights. Accossato's Sintered (ST) version of the AGPP91 pad answers that with a material whose behaviour does not depend on temperature, and it is listed for the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900 of 2018 to 2020.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) rear pads, ordered under AGPP91ST
- For the Aprilia Dorsoduro 900, model years 2018 to 2020
- Even grip whether the pads are cold or fully warmed, in Accossato's account
- Bite is maintained on a wet disc
- One box, two pads, the complete rear caliper
- OR and STMX materials fill the same shape for other uses
- Front wheel of this model: two boxes of AGPA101 pads
- No German ABE on file; offered for track and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Sintered material is the choice Accossato puts forward for riders who use a bike in every condition, and its stated virtue is that the grip level does not move: cold pads and hot pads give the same answer to the same pressure, and water on the disc is not enough to change it. Since the material also keeps its own heating in check, there is more margin before fade sets in on a long descent. It shares the plate and the outline with the other AGPP91 versions and comes as a pair for the one caliper at the back.
Weight Behind the Rider
Luggage changes a bike's manners more than most people expect. The extra mass sits high and well back, so the machine is slower to slow down, the rear tyre is pressed harder into the road and the rear brake becomes genuinely useful instead of merely helpful. A few adjustments make the weekend easier. Add a little rear preload before you set off, check the tyre pressure with the bags on rather than empty, and brake earlier than usual for the first hour until you have recalibrated. Pack the heavy items low and close to the centre of the bike. When you get home, look at the rear pads before putting the bike away, because a loaded trip takes more out of them than the same distance ridden solo.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Dorsoduro 900 between 2018 and 2020 this is the rear pad Accossato lists, and a single box covers the one caliper fitted there. The OR version suits gentler use and the STMX version is meant for unsurfaced roads, both in the same outline. If the front is also due, the AGPA101 pad covers the identical model years with a box needed per caliper, and the DKS032 disc is listed for the front wheel of this bike.
Road Approval
Approval papers for this pad, a German ABE included, have never been supplied to us. We therefore sell the AGPP91ST for competition and closed-circuit riding only.
Scope of Delivery
One box of two AGPP91 pads in the Sintered (ST) material, a full set for the rear caliper.
