DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Yamaha YZF-R125 ridden to work through a northern European winter meets rain, salt, dark mornings and freezing brake discs. For its front caliper from 2014 to 2024, Accossato offers the AGPA101 in the Sintered (ST) compound. Accossato says the material keeps high, constant grip at low and high temperatures and grips well in the wet. It is for riders who use their R125 as all-year transport and want the lever to feel the same in January as in July.
Key Features
- Front brake pads for the Yamaha YZF-R125, 2014 to 2024
- AGPA101 outline in the Sintered (ST) compound, code AGPA101ST
- Stable grip from cold to hot, according to Accossato
- Good performance on a wet disc
- Two pads per box for one caliper
- Also offered as OR, EV1 and EV2
- No German ABE held; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's sintered AGPA101 aims at consistency. The company describes a high friction level that barely changes between a cold and a hot brake, together with good wet grip. For a year-round commuter such as the R125, which often sets off with frozen discs, that is a practical strength. The material also wears slowly and resists fade. Each box contains two pads for one caliper.
Winter Commuting
Winter riding brings wet roads, spray from other vehicles and road salt. The brakes on a small commuter bike rarely get warm on a short trip. A sintered pad responds reliably from the first application, even on a wet disc, which gives the rider confidence at the first set of lights. After salty rides, rinse the brakes with clean water and let them dry. For fair-weather town riding, the OR version is gentler on the disc; for fast road and track riding, the EV1 or EV2 are the sporting choices.
Before Fitting
Inspect the disc, clean the pistons and push them back carefully. Check the fluid level and condition. After fitting, pump the lever until firm and bed in with a few progressive stops.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA101 for the front of the Yamaha YZF-R125 built from 2014 to 2024. The rear uses the AGPA173 on 2008 to 2018 bikes and the AGPP99 on 2019 to 2024 bikes. Accossato's DK245 disc is listed for the model. One box serves one caliper, so check your front brake layout before ordering.
Road Approval
No German ABE or approval evidence is on file for this pad, which is offered for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Two sintered front pads in one box, the set for one YZF-R125 caliper.
