DescriptionThe whole story▼
A cruiser is often the bike that stays out longest in the season, and the Yamaha XV950 Bolt, listed by Accossato from 2014 to 2022 in its standard, C-Spec and R-Spec forms, is no exception. When an owner fits saddlebags and heads for a long weekend, rain showers come with the territory. For that rider Accossato offers the front pad AGPA71 in the Sintered compound, SKU AGPA71ST, aimed at a consistent lever from a cold morning start through a wet afternoon and on to a warm evening.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) front pad, SKU AGPA71ST
- Yamaha XV950 (Bolt), 2014 to 2022, all three versions
- Accossato: high grip that holds steady from cold to hot
- Accossato: dependable bite when the disc is wet
- For weekend trips with saddlebags
- One set of two pads for the front caliper
- Rear pad AGPP121 listed
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato states that its Sintered compound delivers high grip that remains constant across low and high temperatures and that it bites well in the wet. On a single-disc cruiser like the XV950, where one caliper does all the front work, that steadiness is valuable. Accossato also cites slow wear and fade resistance thanks to limited heat build-up; we mention it here and leave out any material claims.
Cruising Through Showers
With only one front disc, the XV950 relies on a single caliper for most of its stopping. On a wet road, the rider wants that caliper to respond the same way it did in the dry, without a vague first moment while water is wiped off the disc. A Sintered pad is chosen for exactly that. It suits riders who ride the Bolt year-round, who travel with bags or who simply prefer not to check the forecast. Owners who keep the bike for sunny evening rides in town will find the OR version quieter.
Fitment and Compatibility
This AGPA71ST pad fits the front of the Yamaha XV950 as listed by Accossato from 2014 to 2022, covering the XV 950 BOLT (2014 to 2018), BOLT C-SPEC (2015 to 2021) and BOLT R-SPEC (2014 to 2022). One front caliper means one box. At the rear, the XV950 uses AGPP121 for the same years. Clean road grime from the caliper before retracting the pistons, keep brake cleaner off the tyre and bed the pads with a handful of gentle stops.
Road Approval
No ABE or approval document has been made available to us for this pad, so we sell it for competition use.
