DescriptionThe whole story▼
Long days, full cases and a passenger are what the Triumph Trophy 1200 SE was designed for. Accossato's AGPA21 front pad in the Sintered (ST) compound follows the same idea. The manufacturer states that it maintains a high, constant grip level across low and high temperatures and works well in the wet. It is listed for the Trophy 1200 SE from 2013 to 2018, and it is the compound in this range that matches classic touring use.
Key Features
- AGPA21 front pad in Accossato's Sintered (ST) compound
- Fits the Triumph Trophy 1200 SE, 2013-2018
- Accossato: high, steady grip cold or hot, good in rain
- Designed for loaded touring and riding two-up
- Consistent lever feel across long descents
- One box covers one front caliper with two pads
- OR and EV1 versions also exist
Construction and Material Quality
The sintered compound from Accossato is about consistency. It is meant to deliver the same grip whether the pads have just started working or have been used hard, and to keep biting when the disc is wet. For a heavy, fully loaded tourer this is the property that matters most. Accossato also claims the general strengths of its range here: long life, heat under control for less fade, and firm stopping.
Alpine Touring on the Trophy
A loaded Trophy 1200 SE with two people aboard is a lot of mass to bring down from speed, and on a long alpine descent the front brake gets no rest. As the discs heat up, a pad that fades makes the lever feel longer, which is unsettling at the next hairpin. The ST compound is designed to prevent that change in feel. It also suits touring in changeable weather, when a sunny morning can turn into rain over the next pass. For solo commuting with light braking, OR is quieter and gentler. On multi-day trips, a quick look at the pads through the caliper at each fuel stop is a good habit.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Accossato listing names AGPA21 for the Trophy 1200 SE in the years 2013 to 2018. The rear pad for the same bike is AGPA76, and the DK132 disc is also listed. Because the Trophy uses two front calipers, a complete front change needs two boxes. Before a big trip, check disc condition and fluid, change both sides together, clean pistons before retracting them and bed the new pads in gradually.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or Prüfzeichen for AGPA21ST. The pad is therefore offered for competition use.
