DescriptionThe whole story▼
AGPA58ST is Accossato's Sintered front pad for the Triumph Thunderbird Storm, listed for 2011 to 2018. It is for riders who keep the Storm on the road when the weather is poor: wet November evenings, frosty spring mornings and long trips across the hills with bags packed. The aim of this compound is simple. The front brake should grip in the same way on a cold, wet disc as on a warm, dry one, so the lever never feels unfamiliar.
Key Features
- Sintered front pads AGPA58 for the Triumph Thunderbird Storm, 2011 to 2018
- SKU AGPA58ST
- Accossato: constant, high grip whether hot or cold, and good in the wet
- Same lever feel in rain and dry weather
- Ready for autumn and winter riding
- Copes with pillion and bags
- Also made in OR, EV1 and EV2
- No test documents on file; for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
In Accossato's words, the Sintered mixture holds a high and uniform grip at low and high temperatures and grips well in the wet. On a Storm ridden through the colder months, that uniformity is the property you notice. The maker also designs its pads for slow wear and for a stable response by keeping heat under control.
Wet Evenings, Cold Mornings
Spray from the car in front, leaves on the road, a disc that has been standing in the rain all day: that is the everyday reality of a cruiser ridden year-round. On the Storm, the front brake has a lot of weight to slow, and wet tarmac leaves little margin. A pad that responds without delay on a wet disc gives you back some of that margin. With a passenger and a pair of saddlebags, the same predictability makes a long valley descent in the rain far less tense.
Salt and Grime
After winter rides, rinse the calipers with clean water, let everything dry and check that the pads slide freely.
Fitment and Compatibility
In Accossato's listing, AGPA58 fits the front brake of the Thunderbird Storm with its 1700 engine, model years 2011 through 2018. AGPA92 is the matching rear pad. A box equips one caliper, so check how many calipers are fitted at the front of your Storm. Clean the pistons before pushing them back and replace the pads axle by axle.
Road Approval
For this front pad there is no German ABE and no test certificate in our records. We sell AGPA58ST for racing and competition.
Scope of Delivery
