DescriptionThe whole story▼
Commuting through winter on a Triumph Speed 400 means spray, standing water and cold, grimy discs. For riders who keep going when others park up, Accossato lists the AGPA184 front pad for the 2024 Speed 400 in its Sintered (ST) compound. The idea is simple: a front brake that grips properly when the disc is wet and that keeps the same feel whether the air is freezing or the pads have just worked hard at the bottom of a long hill.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) front pads, article AGPA184ST
- For the Triumph Speed 400, model year 2024
- Chosen for winter commuting and wet roads
- Accossato promises high, stable grip hot or cold and in the rain
- Two pads for the single front caliper
- Same shape available as OR and EV1
Construction and Material Quality
The ST article is the sintered version of the AGPA184. Accossato says the material holds a high, stable grip level across low and high temperatures and performs well in wet conditions. On the front of a small commuter bike ridden every day, that consistency is reassuring. The company also designs its pads to wear slowly and to keep heat, and with it fade, under control, so the lever stays firm through a long winter.
Spray, Salt and Dark Mornings
In winter the front brake of the Speed 400 is working against water on the disc and grime thrown up by traffic. A sintered compound is chosen because it cuts through a wet film quickly and grips with little delay. Ride with a longer gap to the vehicle in front so that braking can be early and gentle, and use both brakes together. At the weekend, rinse the salt off the caliper with plain water, dry it, and check that the pads still move freely. Corroded pistons are the most common reason for a front brake that drags or feels wooden in spring.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues the AGPA184 for the front brake of the Triumph Speed 400, model year 2024. With one front disc, one box is all the bike needs at the front. The AGPP91 is listed for the rear of the same bike. If your use is mainly dry or includes track days, the AGPA184 is also sold as Organic or EV1.
Road Approval
This sintered pad has no German ABE, and we have not received any document supporting road use. It is sold for circuit and competition riding.
Scope of Delivery
