DescriptionThe whole story▼
A cross-country course often crosses a creek, a boggy meadow and a muddy forest track all in the same lap. For the KTM 250 XC, Accossato lists the AGPA29 front pad from 2006 to 2022, and this is the Sintered version. It is designed for riders who race in spring and autumn when the woods are wet, who expect the front brake to recover quickly after splashing through water, and who want the same lever feel in the cold first lap as in the final hour of a long race.
Key Features
- Front pads AGPA29 for the KTM 250 XC, 2006 to 2022
- Sintered compound, article number AGPA29ST
- Accossato promises high and consistent grip across the temperature range
- Good bite on a wet disc after water crossings
- Even lever feel through a long race
- Same plate offered as OR, STMX and EV1
- No German ABE available; for competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes its Sintered pad as keeping a high, constant grip whether temperatures are low or high, and as working well in the wet. For a cross-country machine that alternates between slow, cool sections and fast, hot ones within a lap, that consistency is useful. The lining is attached to the ordinary AGPA29 plate and fits without any change to the caliper.
Creek Crossings and Wet Woods
Riding through a stream cools and soaks the front brake instantly. The next corner may be only metres away, and a pad that needs a few applications to dry out makes that corner a gamble. In wet woods the same thing happens on a smaller scale all lap long. A compound that keeps its grip on a wet disc gives the 250 XC rider the confidence to brake as usual just after the water. Over a two-hour race, the difference in fatigue and safety adds up.
After a wet race, clean and dry the caliper, and check that no grit is stuck between pad and piston. Replacing brake fluid at regular intervals is also wise for a bike that often goes through water.
Fitment and Compatibility
AGPA29 is listed by Accossato for the front of the XC 250, model years 2006 to 2022. No additional Accossato pad for this model appears in our data, but discs DK018 and DK259 are listed. The 250 XC has a single front caliper, so one box is enough. Compare the pad shape before fitting.
Road Approval
No ABE or German test certificate is held by us for AGPA29ST. The set is for motorsport.
Scope of Delivery
Two AGPA29 pads in Sintered compound, one caliper set.
