DescriptionThe whole story▼
Enduro riders do not choose their weather. A 250 EXC-F from the 2006 to 2023 model years may be ridden through a drenched forest in November, across frozen ground in February and along a dusty ridge in August. For riders who ride all year round, Accossato offers the AGPA29 front pad in the Sintered compound. The maker says it keeps a high, constant grip level at low and high temperatures and grips well in the wet, which suits wet roots, streams and rain-soaked trails.
Key Features
- AGPA29ST, Sintered front pads
- KTM 250 EXC-F, 2006 to 2023
- Accossato: steady grip whether cold or hot
- Good bite on a wet disc
- For wet roots, streams and rain-soaked trails
- One box for the single front caliper
- No ABE; off-road sport
Construction and Material Quality
Two things define the Sintered version in Accossato's own terms. First, its grip is meant to stay high and level from a frosty start to a hot, dragging descent. Second, it is said to keep biting when water runs off the disc. An EXC-F disc can be plunged into a ford and then cooked on a long rocky drop within the same ten minutes, and a friction face that shrugs off that treatment keeps the lever familiar. Here it is mounted on the AGPA29 plate. Accossato started out in Moncalieri, near Turin, in 1969.
Wet Roots and Winter Trails
Wet roots are among the trickiest obstacles in enduro. The front tyre can slip at any moment, so the rider needs a front brake that responds precisely to small lever movements, even when the disc is soaked. A compound built to grip well in the wet helps the rider slow down before the roots and cross them with the brakes released.
A winter enduro loop tends to start on hard frost and finish in thick, sticky mud. Once the bike is back in the van, a hose and a soft brush around the front caliper stop dirt from drying onto the pad edges. Keep an eye on the disc for fine scratches, and on the reservoir window for fluid that has turned dark. At pad-change time the piston deserves a proper clean before it goes back into its bore, and the lever should be worked until it feels solid again.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue lists the AGPA29 for the front caliper of the KTM 250 EXC-F in every model year from 2006 to 2023; one box fits the single caliper. At the rear, the AGPP80 covers the same period, and the discs DK017, DK018 and DK259 are catalogued for the bike too. Organic, STMX and EV1 are the other AGPA29 compounds.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or approval mark on file for these Sintered pads, so they are sold for off-road sport.
Scope of Delivery
Two Sintered AGPA29 pads in one box, for the front caliper.
