DescriptionThe whole story▼
Plenty of KTM 200 Duke owners ride every day of the year, through rain, fog and cold, because the bike is their main way of getting to work or college. For the 2012 to 2017 models, Accossato offers the AGPA184 front pad in the Sintered compound. The maker says it keeps a high, constant grip level at both high and low temperatures and bites well in the wet, which makes it the version for year-round commuters.
Key Features
- Sintered front pads AGPA184ST
- KTM 200 Duke, 2012 to 2017
- Accossato: constant grip, hot or cold
- Good performance on wet roads
- For daily riding in all weather
- One box for the single front caliper
- No ABE held by us; for sporting use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes its Sintered compound in terms of stability: a high, constant grip level whatever the temperature, and good bite on a wet disc. For a 200 Duke used every weekday, that means the front lever feels the same on a frosty January morning as on a warm June evening. The friction material is bonded to the AGPA184 plate. Accossato, which today operates from Villastellone near Turin, also designs its pads to limit fade.
Commuting Through the Seasons
Commuting all year on a small bike means riding in conditions that fair-weather riders avoid: rain at rush hour, fog on country lanes, wet leaves at roundabouts. A front brake that behaves the same in all of them lets the rider concentrate on traffic rather than on how the brake will react. A compound built for consistent grip in the wet supports that.
Winter commuting is also hard on brake parts. Rinse salt and grime from the caliper regularly, check the pads for uneven wear and look at the disc for corrosion or scoring. When fitting new pads, clean the pistons before pushing them back and pump the lever until pressure returns. Bed the pads in with a few gentle stops before heading into traffic.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA184 for the front caliper of the KTM 200 Duke from 2012 to 2017. The bike has one front caliper, so one box is enough. For the rear, Accossato offers the AGPP91 in the same years. Other AGPA184 compounds are Organic and EV1.
Road Approval
This Sintered front set has no ABE or approval mark in our files and is sold for competition use.
