DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato's application list gives the KTM 1090 Adventure a single year, 2017, and for that bike it makes this front pad in the Sintered (ST) compound. The 1090 was KTM's road-leaning adventure tourer of the time, and plenty of them spend their lives crossing mountain ranges with panniers attached. ST is meant for exactly that: Accossato says it keeps a high, constant grip across temperatures and bites well in the wet.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) front pads for the KTM 1090 Adventure, 2017
- Accossato quotes constant grip from cold to hot
- Bites well on a wet disc
- Made for luggage, pillion and long pass descents
- Box of two pads, one caliper's set
- Twin front calipers: two boxes for the full front
- Competition use in Germany; no approval papers
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's sintered compound comes with a clear promise: a grip level that is high and stays even, whether the pad is chilly after a night outside or hot from a long descent, together with dependable bite in rain. For a 1090 Adventure rider whose day may include a frosty col at dawn and a sticky valley road at noon, that evenness is the point. Accossato also claims low wear, long life and fade resistance because the pad heats up gradually. It does not reveal the recipe.
Crossing the Alps on a 1090
Imagine a 1090 Adventure with aluminium cases and a tank bag, climbing one pass after another. On each way down the front brakes work for minutes at a time, and a cloudburst can turn the tarmac slick without warning. Sintered pads are designed to carry on regardless, so the bite you learnt at the top of the pass is still there at the bottom. That makes ST the compound for touring riders; OR is quieter for town, while EV1, EV2 and ZXC target circuits.
Wet-Weather Housekeeping
Rain washes grit into the calipers. After a soaking, rinse the 1090's front brakes with clean water, let them dry and check that both pads slide freely. Renew the fluid each season, because moisture creeps in over time.
Fitment and Compatibility
AGPA96 is the reference Accossato gives for the front brake of the 2017 KTM 1090 Adventure. Two calipers grip the twin discs, so buy two boxes to renew both sides at once. We do not stock an Accossato rear pad for this model at present. Before the new sintered pads go in, measure the discs, clean each piston and push them home evenly.
Road Approval
Our records contain no test report or approval mark for these pads, so German buyers get them for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The box holds two Sintered (ST) pads for one caliper.
