DescriptionThe whole story▼
Long journeys on the Husqvarna Norden 901 rarely stay dry from start to finish. A mountain pass can turn from sunshine to hail in an hour, and a loaded bike with a passenger and panniers needs brakes that behave the same through all of it. This front set, Accossato AGPA96 in the Sintered mixture, fits the Norden 901 from 2022 to 2024. It is aimed at touring riders who travel two-up, carry luggage, ride all year and want a lever that stays consistent in rain, cold and heat.
Key Features
- AGPA96ST front brake pads for the Husqvarna Norden 901
- Fits model years 2022 to 2024
- Sintered compound with, per Accossato, high and steady grip across hot and cold conditions
- Accossato notes reliable performance on a wet disc
- Suited to two-up touring, loaded panniers and alpine passes
- Even lever feel on long descents and in changing weather
- Twin front calipers on the Norden 901: order two boxes for the front
- No ABE with us; offered for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato sums up the Sintered version as a compound whose grip stays strong and even from cold to hot, and which works properly when the rotor is wet. Both qualities are exactly what a heavily laden adventure bike asks of its front brake on a long day. The friction material is fixed to the AGPA96 plate that the brand lists for the front of the Norden 901. As with all its pads, Accossato also mentions slow wear, less fade through limited heat build-up, and firm stopping force.
Passes, Passengers and Panniers
Adding a pillion and luggage changes how a bike stops. Weight shifts forward under braking, the front tyre works harder and the pads have to cope with repeated long applications on a mountain descent. A pad that keeps its grip level as it heats up helps the rider judge each hairpin with the same finger pressure. When the weather turns and spray coats the discs, a compound that responds well in the wet avoids that uneasy moment of delay. For the Norden 901 as a year-round tourer, this is the version built around those demands.
Before a long trip, check the pad depth on both front calipers and inspect the discs for scoring. Look at the colour and level of the brake fluid, which absorbs moisture over time. Replace all four front pads together, clean each piston before pushing it back, and pump the lever until firm after fitting.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA96 for the front of the Husqvarna Norden 901 in model years 2022 to 2024. With two front calipers the bike needs two boxes for a complete front change. The AGPA29 is Accossato's matching rear pad for this model. Hold the new pads against the old ones before fitting.
Road Approval
An ABE or similar approval for the AGPA96ST is not available to us. It is therefore supplied for motorsport and off-road use.
Scope of Delivery
One box of two AGPA96 Sintered pads, which equips one of the two front calipers.
