DescriptionThe whole story▼
Plenty of Pan European riders do not park their bikes when the clocks go back. The Honda ST 1300 Pan European was built for weeks away with panniers, a passenger and whatever the Alps or the Scottish Highlands throw at it. For the front brake of the ABS model from 2008 to 2018, Accossato makes the AGPA87 pad, and here it comes in the Sintered mixture: the choice for wet roads, loaded touring and riders who want the lever to feel the same in November as in July.
Key Features
- Front brake pads for the Honda ST 1300 Pan European with ABS, 2008 to 2018
- Article AGPA87ST: the AGPA87 shape in the Sintered mixture
- Accossato claims steady grip whether the pads are hot or cold
- Good bite on rain-soaked roads according to the maker
- Consistent lever feel with a passenger and full luggage
- Suited to year-round use and long mountain descents
- Also produced in the OR and EV1 street/track mixtures
- No ABE available; offered for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes its Sintered mixture as one that holds a high and even level of grip across a broad range of temperatures and still works convincingly when the road is wet. That combination is what a fully laden tourer needs: the first squeeze after a cold start and the fortieth hairpin on a pass should feel alike. The company also stresses modest wear, stopping power that stays strong and limited heating, which in turn keeps fade at bay.
Rain, Passes and Pillion
Picture the Pan European two-up on a long descent from a mountain pass in drizzle, with loaded cases and a queue of cars ahead. Every bend asks for a firm stop and the brakes rarely get a rest. A Sintered pad is built for this pattern: it keeps its character as the discs warm up and does not lose confidence when spray covers everything. Autumn commuters who ride through leaves, grit and wet tarmac benefit in the same way. Before the season turns, check the pad thickness, look at the discs for scoring and change the brake fluid if it has darkened, so the ST 1300 enters winter in good order.
Fitment and Compatibility
The AGPA87 is listed by Accossato for the front of the Honda ST 1300 Pan European from 2008 to 2018, in both the standard and the ABS version. Because the Pan European stops with two front calipers, you need two boxes to renew the whole front axle, and both sides should be changed together. At the rear Accossato offers the AGPA25, which covers the 2002 to 2018 model years.
Road Approval
This set comes without an ABE or German test mark in our records, so we list the AGPA87ST as a part for racing and motorsport.
Scope of Delivery
