DescriptionThe whole story▼
Not every owner of a Honda CMX300 Rebel parks it when October arrives. Some ride it through autumn drizzle, over leaf-covered lanes and through the first cold mornings of winter, sometimes with a friend on the pillion seat. For them the front pads have to feel the same on a wet Tuesday as on a dry Sunday. Accossato's front set for the CMX300 Rebel of 2017 to 2021, here in the Sintered (ST) compound, is intended for riders who take the little cruiser out in every season.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) pads for the front caliper of the Honda CMX300 Rebel, 2017 to 2021
- Accossato cites steady grip from cold to hot and good bite on wet discs
- Consistent lever feel when the bike carries a passenger
- Suited to year-round riding in changing weather
- One set of two pads for the single front caliper
- OR version listed as the alternative for the same caliper
- No German ABE documented; intended for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes the Sintered compound as keeping a high grip level that stays constant whether the brake is hot or cold, and says it bites well on a wet disc. The pads therefore feel much the same on the first stop of a frosty morning as after a long descent. The manufacturer also names the qualities it claims for all of its pads: long service life, limited heating and with it less fade, and strong stopping power. Accossato has made motorcycle parts since 1969, when the firm was founded in Moncalieri near Turin.
When the Rain Sets In
Water on the disc is the moment many riders notice their pads for the first time: the lever travels a little further before anything happens. The sintered mix is designed to shorten that delay, which matters on a CMX300 Rebel ridden through wet streets with a passenger behind. Autumn adds leaves, grit and salt, so rinse the caliper after a winter ride and let it dry before parking. Check the brake fluid level and colour at the start of the cold season as well; dark fluid that has absorbed moisture softens the lever regardless of the pads you fit.
Fitment and Compatibility
This set is listed by Accossato for the CMX 300 Rebel of 2017 to 2021 and goes in the single front caliper, so one box is enough for the front. The matching rear set is the AGPP185, which Accossato names for the 2017 and 2018 bikes. Take out one of the old pads and hold it against the product image before fitting. When the new sintered pads are in, bed them in with a series of moderate stops on a quiet road before relying on full stopping power.
Road Approval
These pads come without a German ABE or any test certificate on file, which is why we list them for closed-course and competition riding.
Scope of Delivery
Two Sintered front pads, enough to refit the Rebel's front caliper once.
