DescriptionThe whole story▼
Long-distance riders choose the Honda CBF1000F for its upright comfort and its willingness to carry luggage and a passenger across whole countries. On such trips the front brake meets everything from a cold dawn start to a rain-soaked descent in the afternoon. Accossato's AGPA87 front pad in the Sintered (ST) compound is listed for the CBF1000F ABS of 2015 to 2018 and suits that touring use. The maker describes grip that is high and even at low and high temperatures and that holds on wet discs.
Key Features
- Sintered (ST) front brake pads for the Honda CBF1000F with ABS, 2015 to 2018
- Accossato AGPA87 shape, article number AGPA87ST
- For touring with luggage and pillion, in all weather
- Accossato quotes high grip that stays constant from cold to hot
- Good bite on wet discs, according to the maker
- One box holds the two pads for a single caliper
- Two front calipers on the CBF1000F, so two boxes are needed for the front
- Also available in Organic (OR) and EV1 street/track
Construction and Material Quality
The ST code marks the sintered friction material in this AGPA87. Accossato's statement is about constancy: grip remains high and scarcely changes as the pads warm up on a long descent or cool down in the rain, and wet discs do not rob it of its bite. For a heavy touring bike carrying two people and their luggage, a lever that feels the same in every situation is worth a great deal. Each box contains the two pads one caliper takes.
Two People, Full Panniers, Wet Descent
A fully loaded CBF1000F asks a lot of its front brake on a mountain road. The combined weight of bike, riders and luggage has to be slowed before every hairpin, and a summer storm can turn the surface slick halfway down. Brake firmly in a straight line, release before leaning in and let the engine help between bends. Stop for a few minutes if the lever starts to feel different. Before a long trip on the CBF1000F, check both front sets for thickness, look at the fluid colour and make sure the discs are free of oil or chain spray.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Honda CBF1000F ABS from 2015 to 2018, Accossato lists the AGPA87 at the front. Since the bike has two front calipers, order two boxes to renew the axle. At the rear, the AGPP88 is catalogued for the same years. Fit all four pads together, clean the pistons before retracting them and pump the lever until pressure is solid.
Road Approval
Neither a test report nor a German ABE for this pad is available to us. We therefore list the AGPA87ST for track and competition riding.
Scope of Delivery
Two Accossato AGPA87 front pads in Sintered (ST), sufficient for one of the two front calipers.
