DescriptionThe whole story▼
Swapping a clutch lever on an older YZ450F at home rather than paying a shop's labour rate is one of the more sensible repairs a club racer can do without any special tools. Accossato's AGS130 is a silver clutch lever in the original form, listed for the YZ450F across 2003 to 2016.
Key Features
- Clutch lever in the original form for the Yamaha YZ450F
- Accossato lists the AGS130 from 2003 to 2016
- Silver finish
- Left-hand side of the handlebar
- An original spare parts type, priced as a repair rather than a tuning part
- Accossato states increased resistance after damage or a collision
- One lever supplied
- No German ABE or test mark on file; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's original spare parts type is built around copying rather than redesigning, and the AGS130 follows that approach exactly, matching the clutch lever this earlier YZ450F already carried from new. A repair restores the bar to exactly how the bike left the factory. The company states that its manufacturing process leaves these levers more resistant once they have already taken a knock, and silver is the only colour this fitment comes in.
A Job That Pays for Itself
Fitting a clutch lever on an older YZ450F takes little more than one bolt and a few minutes, which makes it one of the easier repairs to justify doing yourself rather than booking a slot with a mechanic over something this small. The saving on labour alone usually covers most of the cost of the part. Clean the pivot and the bearing point, work in a light film of grease before fitting the AGS130, and set the cable's free play to the handbook figure rather than by feel before the bike goes back to racing.
Fitment and Compatibility
Owners running more than one Yamaha enduro or motocrosser will recognise this code: the same AGS130 clutch lever also sits under the WR250F and the WR450F in our shop. For the brake side of this earlier YZ450F the correct part is the AGD112, since the newer AGD224 and its alternative clutch code, the AGS294, belong to a later run of the same model rather than this one. A tuning option for this fitment is listed under B8265 and C7266.
Road Approval
No approval paperwork was supplied with the AGS130, so no German ABE and no test mark can be quoted for it, and the lever is listed for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
