DescriptionThe whole story▼
A control that feels right in the workshop is often wrong on the trail, and the reason is posture. Levers are usually set by someone sitting on the bike with both feet down, while enduro riding is done standing on the pegs with the wrists above the grips. The angle those two positions want is not the same, and on a 300EXC SIX DAYS the difference is felt within the first hour. Accossato lists the AGS14 for this machine from 2006 to 2018, a silver clutch lever in the original form.
Key Features
- Clutch lever in the original form for the KTM 300EXC SIX DAYS
- Accossato's entry runs from 2006 to 2018
- Silver
- Left-hand lever, hydraulic clutch
- One of Accossato's original spare parts types, aimed at value
- The maker states that its production process improves resistance after damage
- One lever
- No German ABE or test mark; racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Keeping the standard shape is what makes a familiar setting possible. Because the AGS14 follows the form of the clutch lever fitted to the 300EXC SIX DAYS, a rider who has spent seasons arriving at the right perch angle does not have to start again after a repair, and the blade sits in the same relationship to the grip as before. Accossato developed the range as original spare parts types with an affordable repair as the aim, and says that the production method used leaves these levers more resistant after damage or a collision. Silver is the listed colour, and nothing else is published about the part.
Levers Angled for Standing
Setting a cockpit for standing is a short job that changes a whole day. Get the bike level, stand on the pegs in your riding boots and take a normal grip, then have someone loosen the perch clamp so the lever can be rotated until the blade runs roughly in line with your forearm. The wrist should stay straight when two fingers reach the lever; if the hand has to break upwards to find it, the control is too high, which is the usual mistake on a machine that has been set up in a garage. Tighten the clamp firmly but not savagely, because an off-road perch is meant to rotate in a crash rather than pass the whole impact into the blade. Then check the details that go with the new position: the lever must swing through its full travel without touching the grip or the handguard, it must return fully under its own weight, and the pivot must be clean and lightly greased so that it does neither of those things reluctantly. Ride an easy section and come back to it, since the first honest opinion arrives after ten minutes rather than in the workshop. On a 300EXC SIX DAYS used for long days this is worth revisiting once a season, and certainly after any fall that has moved the bars, because a cockpit that has been knocked round and merely pushed back by hand is rarely where it was.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list gives the AGS14 for the 300EXC SIX DAYS from 2006 to 2018, with the AGD316 covering the brake side from 2014 to 2018; there is one original-type code for each half of the handlebar. Beyond this model the clutch entry is catalogued with us for the Beta RR 390 4T, the Husqvarna FC 350 and the Husqvarna TC 250, so a rider with a second machine in the van may already own the spare. Accossato's CNC levers for this bike are the B8283 and the C7283.
Road Approval
Because no approval papers were supplied with the AGS14, we cannot show a German ABE or a test mark for it, and the lever is offered as a part for racing and competition.
