DescriptionThe whole story▼
Two hours into a cross-country race, hands are the part of a rider that gives up first. Arms pump, gloves are soaked, and the fingers that were working the clutch precisely in the first lap are simply holding on by the last. On an FX 450 that is when the small details at the end of the lever start to matter. Accossato lists the AGS17 for the FX 450 of 2021 and 2022, a silver clutch lever in the original shape.

Construction and Material Quality
The AGS17 is the original-type clutch lever Accossato offers for this machine, which in the company's language means a part cut to the shape Husqvarna used on the FX 450 and sold to replace a broken one at a sensible price. Accossato states that the process behind these levers gives them more resistance after damage or a collision. Silver is the colour listed for this bike. The manufacturer publishes no further data, and rather than filling the gap with guesses we leave the description where its information ends.
Hands, Gloves and the Lever End
Over a long race the contact between glove and lever decides more than it seems to. The tip of the blade is where two fingers rest for hours, so its condition changes how hard you have to grip: a lever with a broken end, however carefully it has been filed smooth, concentrates pressure on a small area and produces blisters that a whole lever would not. A blade bent inwards does something worse, bringing the lever close enough to the grip that fingers can be caught between the two on a hard pull, exactly when the rider is tired and reacting late. Neither problem announces itself in the paddock; both show up at the point in the race where mistakes are expensive. So look at the lever end when you check the FX 450 over, not only at whether the lever works. If the tip is damaged or the blade is out of line, fit a new one, clean and grease the pivot while it is apart, and leave the small free play at rest that the handbook asks for.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGS17 for the FX 450 in 2021 and 2022 only, and no other original-type clutch lever is given for this model, so machines from earlier seasons are not covered on the left-hand side. The brake lever of the original type, the AGD14, runs from 2018 to 2022. The AGS17 also appears with us under the FC 350, the FE 501 and the TC 250, among other Husqvarnas. Accossato's tuning alternatives for the FX 450 are the CNC brake lever B8283 and the CNC clutch lever C7284.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no test mark exist for the AGS17 here, since the lever came to us without approval papers of any kind; it is listed for racing and competition.
