DescriptionThe whole story▼
For two seasons of the FS 450 there are two clutch lever codes to choose between. Accossato lists the AGS14 across a long span and the AGS17 for 2018 and 2019 only, which means an owner of a bike from those two years finds both offered and no help from the model year in deciding. The answer, as so often with levers, is on the handlebar rather than in the catalogue. The AGS17 is a silver clutch lever in the original shape for the FS 450.
Key Features
- Original-shape clutch lever for the Husqvarna FS 450

- Left of the handlebar, hydraulic clutch
- An original spare parts type, priced as a spare
- Accossato says the manufacturing process improves resistance after damage
- A single lever
- No approval documents held; for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
The AGS17 changes nothing about the left-hand side of the FS 450, which is the point of an original spare parts type in Accossato's sense. The lever repeats the outline Husqvarna used, so the take-up point sits where the rider's hand expects it, and the range was developed so that replacing a broken control stays cheap. Accossato states that the way these levers are made leaves them more resistant after damage or a fall. The colour listed here is silver, and no further technical detail is published.
When Both Codes Fit the Year
Two codes for one season sounds like an error in the list, and it usually is not. Machines built in the same year can leave the factory with different parts when a change happens mid-production, and a spares maker that has confirmed both simply lists both. For an owner that turns the decision into a five-minute job with the bike in front of you. Take the clutch lever off, or photograph it from directly above with the bars pointing straight ahead and something flat underneath for contrast. Look first at the pivot end, which has to match the perch and the master cylinder and therefore tells you most, then at how the blade curves along its length and where it ends. Hold that against the product photographs of both candidates. If they still look alike to you, send us the picture rather than ordering on a guess, and say which year the FS 450 is while you are at it. A lever that does not quite fit is worse than no lever at all, because it will be discovered on a race morning.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGS17 for the FS 450 in 2018 and 2019, while the AGS14 runs from 2015 to 2021 on the same model, so those two years carry both codes. The AGS17 is also catalogued with us for the FC 250, the FE 350 and the FX 450 among related machines. On the brake side, the FS 450 has the AGD316 for 2017 and the AGD14 for 2018 and 2019, with no original-type brake lever listed for the other seasons. Accossato's CNC lever for this bike is the EDD001.
Road Approval
We were given no approval documents with the AGS17, so neither a German ABE nor a test mark applies, and the lever is offered for racing and competition.
