DescriptionThe whole story▼
Look up the clutch lever for a CRF450R and three Accossato codes come back, all silver, all in the original shape, with year spans that overlap for most of the model's life. Honda's motocrosser has been in production long enough to have gone through more than one lever shape, and the catalogue reflects that without always making the difference obvious. The AGS272 is the one with the widest span: it is listed for the CRF450R from 2004 to 2023.
Key Features
- Clutch lever of the original type for the Honda CRF450R
- Accossato splits the entry into 2004 to 2006 and 2007 to 2023
- Silver
- Left-hand control, cable clutch
- Part of Accossato's affordable original spare parts type range
- Accossato states that its production method raises resistance after damage
- Delivered as one lever
- No German ABE and no test mark documented; competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Original spare parts type is Accossato's own wording for the AGS272, and it means the lever takes the shape of the clutch lever Honda fitted rather than introducing a new one. The range exists to give riders a sensible price on a part that gets broken regularly, and Accossato states that the way these levers are made improves their resistance after damage or a fall. The AGS272 is silver. Since the manufacturer publishes no measurements and names no material, the comparison described below matters more than any specification sheet would.
Three Clutch Levers, One Model
Sorting out which of the three fits your CRF450R is a job for the bike rather than for the catalogue. Start with the model year, because it removes at least some of the choice: the AGS11 stops in 2016, the AGS271 in 2020, and only the AGS272 reaches as far as 2023. If your machine falls inside more than one span, take the old lever off and look at it properly. The end that sits in the perch tells you most, since that is where a lever has to match. Photograph it from directly above with the bars straight, and lay the lever on a light surface so the outline stands out. Then hold the picture next to our product photographs and compare the curve of the blade and the shape around the pivot. A broken lever still helps, because the stub left in the perch is exactly the part that matters. If doubt remains after that, send us the photograph before ordering rather than guessing.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato divides its entry for the AGS272 into 2004 to 2006 and 2007 to 2023, and both belong to the CRF450R. The other two original-type clutch levers for this bike, the AGS11 and the AGS271, end earlier, so from 2021 onwards the AGS272 is the only one that still applies. It is also listed here under the CRF250R and the CRF450RX. On the brake side, the original-type spares for the CRF450R are the AGD93 and the AGD279, while Accossato's CNC clutch lever C7210 is there for riders who want a tuning part instead.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor any other test document has been issued to us for the AGS272, and for that reason we list it as a part for racing and competition.
