DescriptionThe whole story▼
A motocrosser rarely comes with paperwork. There is no registration document to read a year off, the previous owner said 2011 or maybe 2012, and the graphics were replaced twice before the bike ever reached you. That becomes a practical problem the first time a part has to be ordered by model year, which for most riders means the first time a lever breaks. Accossato lists the AGS272 for the CRF250R of 2004 to 2018, a silver clutch lever in the shape of the original, and it is one of three codes for that side of this bike.
Key Features
- Original-shape clutch lever for the Honda CRF250R
- Accossato's listing covers 2004 to 2018
- Silver
- Left of the handlebar, clutch
- An original spare parts type, developed by Accossato for value for money
- Accossato states that its manufacturing method raises resistance after damage
- One lever
- No German ABE or test mark; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's spare levers are built to restore a bike rather than to alter it, and the AGS272 is no exception: it repeats the form Honda used on the CRF250R so that the left-hand side goes back to what the rider had before the crash. The range was developed with price as an explicit goal, since a control broken in the first corner is not a purchase anybody planned. Accossato also says the process used to produce these levers leaves them better able to survive damage or a collision. The colour for this code is silver, and that is the whole of the published specification.
Dating a Bike With No Papers
There are three reliable ways to pin down the year of a CRF250R and one unreliable one. The unreliable one is the plastic, because bodywork and graphics get swapped for whatever was cheap. Start instead with the frame number stamped on the headstock: the characters encode the model and the year, and a dealer or an online decoder will read it in seconds. Second, look at the engine and its major cases, which change shape between generations and are much harder to swap than plastic. Third, ask what fits: fork guards, silencers and airboxes are generation-specific, and a previous owner's receipts often name a year without meaning to. Once you have a year, treat it as a shortlist rather than an answer, because on the CRF250R three clutch lever codes overlap and a second-hand bike may be wearing a perch from a different season. The final step stays the same whatever the paperwork says: take the fitted lever off, photograph it from directly above against a plain background, and compare the pivot end and the blade curve with the product pictures. Send the photo to us with the frame number if two candidates still look alike. Guessing a code is how a rider ends up with a lever that almost fits, discovered on a race morning.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the AGS272 for the CRF250R from 2004 to 2018, alongside the AGS11 for 2004 to 2016 and the AGS271 for 2007 to 2024, so nearly every year of this model carries more than one candidate and the shape decides. The AGS272 is also catalogued with us for the Honda CRF450R and the CRF450RX. On the brake side there is only the AGD279, which makes that half of the job simple. Accossato's CNC levers for the CRF250R are the B8207 and the C7210.
Road Approval
No approval documents for the AGS272 are held by us, neither a German ABE nor a test mark, so the lever is listed for racing and competition use.
