DescriptionThe whole story▼
The CRF250 Rally wears more plastic than most small dual-purpose machines: a tall screen, a fairing around the headlights, hand protection on the bars. It looks armoured, and on a gentle fall in gravel it largely is. What the bodywork cannot cover is the pair of levers, which sit outside everything else by design, because a hand has to reach them. For the CRF250 Rally of 2017 and 2018, Accossato lists the AGS300, a silver clutch lever in the original form, and it is the sort of part worth knowing about before you need it rather than after.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato files this lever under original spare parts types, and the phrase describes the intention exactly: the blade follows the shape Honda fitted to the CRF250 Rally rather than proposing a new one, so nothing about the cockpit changes after the repair. The range exists so that a broken control can be put right without a tuning budget, and Accossato states that its manufacturing method leaves the levers more resistant once they have been damaged or dropped. Silver is the colour given for this code. No dimensions, no weight and no material are published by the manufacturer, so none appear in this description.
What the Bodywork Does Not Protect
Ride a CRF250 Rally on a gravel road and the parts that touch the ground first in a slow fall are predictable: the end of the handlebar, the foot peg, the edge of the fairing, and the lever caught between the bar end and the earth. The leverage in that little triangle is considerable, which is why a bike can look entirely undamaged and still have a control that no longer points where it should. Hand guards help and are worth fitting, but they change the geometry of the impact rather than removing it, and a hard landing against a rock can still reach the blade. What matters afterwards is the honesty of the inspection. Sit on the bike, put both hands on the grips and look along the bar: a lever that has moved will look wrong from the saddle long before a tape measure could prove it. Work the clutch through its full travel and listen as much as you feel, because a gritty pivot and a twisted blade produce different complaints. If the geometry has gone, fit a new lever, clean and lightly grease the pivot while the perch is apart, and check the free play once everything is back together. On a machine meant for long days away from help, a control that works cleanly is not a detail.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the AGS300 for the CRF250 Rally in 2017 and 2018 and lists no other original-type lever for this model, so there is no code to weigh it against on the left-hand side. The same lever appears with us for the Honda CRF250L, the model the Rally is built around, which is useful to know if two of these machines share a garage. Accossato publishes no CNC lever for the CRF250 Rally either. As always, compare the photograph with the lever on the bike before ordering.
Road Approval
We hold neither a German ABE nor a test mark for the AGS300, because Accossato supplied no approval documents with it. On that basis we list it for racing and competition use.
