DescriptionThe whole story▼
Hot summer days bring out the CBR600RR, and they also soften the asphalt in car parks and lay-bys. A side stand concentrates the weight of a motorcycle on one small foot, and on a scorching afternoon it can sink slowly into the surface while you are inside having a coffee. Once it has sunk far enough, the bike leans past its balance point and falls onto its left side, which is exactly where the clutch lever sits. For the CBR600RR, Accossato lists the AGS07, a silver replacement clutch lever of the original type, for 2003 to 2017 and again for 2022 to 2025.
Key Features
- Replacement clutch lever, original form, for the Honda CBR600RR
- Listed for 2003 to 2017 and for 2022 to 2025
- Colour silver
- Left-hand clutch lever
- Developed by Accossato to give good value for money
- Made, according to Accossato, by a process that raises resistance after damage or a crash
- One lever
- No German ABE or test mark on record; racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
There is little mystery about the AGS07. Accossato makes it as a spare in the pattern of the original lever, so the CBR600RR keeps the controls it was built with, and the stated aim is value for money. The company also claims that the way these levers are manufactured gives them more resistance after damage or a collision. It is silver, the colour listed for this bike. Other details, from weight to dimensions, are not published by Accossato, and we leave them out rather than guess.
Soft Tarmac on a Hot Day
Prevention costs almost nothing. A side stand puck, a small flat plate slipped under the foot of the stand, spreads the load so the stand cannot dig in, and a flattened drinks-can lid or an offcut of wood will do in an emergency. Where you have the choice, park on concrete or paving rather than on sun-baked asphalt. If the bike goes over anyway, switch off the ignition first, then lift it with your back to the seat, letting your legs do the work rather than your arms. Once it is upright, go round the left side: clutch lever, footpeg, bar end, mirror, the edge of the fairing. A lever that has bent will not return reliably to its old shape, and the next junction is the wrong place to discover that it has been weakened. Fitting the AGS07 is a short job: clean and lightly grease the pivot, set the free play at the lever as the CBR600RR manual describes, check the clutch switch, and pull the lever several times before riding off.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato divides the CBR600RR into two spans for the AGS07, 2003 to 2017 and 2022 to 2025; the years in between do not appear on its list. There is no other original-type lever from Accossato for this bike in our range, but the AGS07 itself is also listed at Inter-Pace for the CBR1000RR, the CB750 Hornet and the CB1000 Hornet. Compare the photo with the lever on your CBR600RR before you order. For a tuning upgrade, Accossato's CNC levers EDF033 and LV019 cover the brake, while ESY688H is the clutch lever.
Road Approval
No test or approval paperwork for the AGS07 exists in our records, so there is no German ABE and no test mark. We list the lever for racing and competition.
