DescriptionThe whole story▼
Owners of the 2008 generation of the CBR1000RR increasingly treat winter as a season for restoration. Honda introduced a completely new Fireblade for 2008 and kept developing it until the CBR1000RR-R took over for 2020, which means there are plenty of these superbikes standing in heated garages between November and March, fairing panels stacked against the wall and a list of small jobs on the bench. A scuffed or bent clutch lever is often on that list. For the CBR1000RR of 2008 to 2019, Accossato offers the AGS07, a silver replacement clutch lever in the original form.
Key Features
- Replacement clutch lever of the original type for the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade
- Listed for the model years 2008 to 2019
- Colour: silver, as Accossato lists it for this bike
- Left-hand lever, operating the clutch
- Designed by Accossato as an affordable spare with sound value for money
- Accossato credits its production method with greater resistance after damage or a fall
- One lever per pack
- No German ABE or test mark on file; sold for racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato calls the AGS07 a spare part of the original type, and that description sets the tone. The lever follows the shape of the one Honda fitted, so once it is on, the left side of the Fireblade looks as it did before the damage. The company designed these levers with value for money as the goal and states that its manufacturing process makes them more resistant after a knock or a crash. The colour is silver. Beyond that, Accossato publishes no technical details, and we do not invent any.
A Winter Refresh for an Early Fireblade
Winter gives a Fireblade owner time that the riding season never does. With the battery on a maintenance charger and the bike on paddock stands, the controls can be checked one at a time, starting on the left. Look at the clutch lever from above and then from the front. One that has been bent, however slightly, no longer sits at the same angle to the bar as the brake lever opposite, and one that somebody has bent back often shows a dull, stressed patch or a fine crack where it gave way. Either is a reason to replace it, because a lever that has been straightened can fail at exactly that spot. With the old lever off, clean the pivot and its bore, apply a thin film of fresh grease and fit the AGS07. Then set the free play at the lever as the CBR1000RR handbook describes, confirm that the clutch switch responds, and pull the lever a few times before the dust cover goes back over the bike.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list places the AGS07 on the CBR1000RR Fireblade from 2008 to 2019, and it is the only original-type lever from Accossato that we show for this bike. The same silver clutch lever is listed at Inter-Pace for the CBR1000RR-R, the CBR600RR and the CB1000 Hornet as well. Before ordering, hold the product photo next to the lever on your own motorcycle. If a tuning part suits your plans better, Accossato's CNC levers for this Fireblade are EDF033 and LV019 on the brake side and ESY688H for the clutch.
Road Approval
The AGS07 comes without test or approval papers: we hold neither a German ABE nor a test mark for it, and we therefore sell it for racing and competition use.
