DescriptionThe whole story▼
The K 1300 R has a hydraulic clutch, and many owners assume that anything to do with it is a job for the workshop. Changing the lever is not one of those jobs. The lever simply presses on the piston of the clutch master cylinder at the handlebar, so it can be swapped without opening the hydraulic system at all. For the K 1300 R of 2009 to 2015, Accossato lists the AGS12, a black replacement clutch lever of the original type, which is one of three clutch levers the company names for this bike.

Construction and Material Quality
The AGS12 is a spare made after the pattern of the original clutch lever, which keeps the left side of the K 1300 R looking as BMW designed it. Accossato positions its replacement levers as good value for money and says their production process increases resistance after damage or a crash. This version is black; Accossato also lists a silver one under a separate code. No other technical information is published.
No Need to Open the Hydraulics
Before you start, turn the handlebar so that the clutch reservoir sits level, and cover the tank and the switch housing with a cloth. You will not open the reservoir, but it is sensible to keep it upright and protected. Note how the old lever sits against the piston, then remove the pivot and lift the lever away. Clean the pivot and its bore, apply a thin film of grease, and fit the AGS12 so that it bears squarely on the piston. The important check follows: pull the lever slowly and make sure it moves the piston cleanly through its travel and returns fully when released, with the small free play at rest that the K 1300 R handbook describes. Then confirm that the clutch switch reacts, start the engine in neutral and test the disengagement at a standstill before you ride.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists three replacement clutch levers for the K 1300 R. The AGS12 in black and the AGS13 in silver cover 2009 to 2015, and the colour of your original lever decides between them. The AGS194, also black, is listed from 2008 to 2015 and is shared with other BMW models, so if your black lever does not match the AGS12 photo, compare it with that one. We also list the AGS12 for the K 1300 S. The brake side is covered by the black AGD305, and Accossato's CNC levers ESB002 for the clutch and EDB001 for the brake are the tuning option.
Road Approval
We do not have a German ABE or a test mark for the AGS12, since no approval documents exist in our files. This clutch lever is therefore listed for racing and competition.
