DescriptionThe whole story▼
For many riders the RS 660 is the first sports bike they own, sometimes only weeks after passing the test, and Aprilia offered it in a version for the A2 licence. The first season on any new motorcycle brings a few slow-speed moments: a foot placed on a painted line at a junction, a U-turn that runs out of steering lock, a side stand not quite folded out. When the bike goes down on its left, the clutch lever takes the knock. Accossato's AGS01 replaces it on the RS 660 of 2020 to 2023, a silver lever shaped like the one that broke.
Key Features
- Clutch lever in original shape for the Aprilia RS 660, 2020 to 2023
- Also listed for the RS 660 Extrema of 2023
- Silver, per Accossato's list
- Left handlebar, clutch
- Accossato: made by a process that gives more resistance after damage or a fall
- Developed for good value for money
- One lever in the box
- No German ABE; for use on the track
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato shapes the AGS01 after the original clutch lever and lists it under original spare parts type. For a newcomer that is the point: the lever sits where the hand learned to look for it during the first months, and the RS 660 keeps the look it had in the showroom. The company's stated aim is good value for money, and it says its manufacturing process leaves the lever more resistant after damage or a crash. That is a claim about toughness, not a promise that a lever will survive every fall. The AGS01 is silver.
The First Season's Tip-Overs
Riding instructors will tell you that most first-year drops happen below walking pace: slow turns, parking on a slope, stopping with the bars still turned, or a boot on a wet manhole cover. The RS 660 has clip-on bars and a sporty riding position, which makes full-lock manoeuvres trickier than on an upright bike. After a fall, look closely at the clutch lever before you ride on. A lever that is bent, cracked or snapped short can stop you pulling the clutch all the way in, and then the gearbox becomes awkward to control at the next stop. When you fit the replacement, clean and grease the pivot, set the free play as the handbook prescribes and check that the clutch switch still responds, since the starter may otherwise stay silent. Half an hour of practice in an empty car park afterwards helps the confidence come back.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list gives the AGS01 for the RS 660 with ABS from 2020 to 2023 and for the Extrema of 2023. The same clutch lever is catalogued at Inter-Pace for the Tuono 660 and the Tuareg 660, which use the same family of Aprilia parallel twin. If a CNC clutch lever appeals for the RS 660, Accossato offers the ESV004, and on the brake side the CNC brake lever EDF099; both have their own listings and years. Please compare the shape with your original lever before ordering.
Road Approval
Because we have no ABE or other approval document for the AGS01, it is offered for racing and competition use.
