DescriptionThe whole story▼
A good many of these machines are never raced. They are bought by riders who want the capability and use it on open trails, on private land and on the occasional long ride with friends, at a pace that is quick without being competitive. That changes the maintenance rhythm: nothing is stripped between motos, and small faults are allowed to accumulate quietly. Accossato lists the AGD316 for the 450XC-F from 2014 to 2018, a silver front brake lever in the original form.
Key Features
- Front brake lever in the original form for the KTM 450XC-F
- Accossato's entry covers 2014 to 2018
- Silver
- Right-hand side of the handlebar
- An original spare parts type developed by Accossato for good value
- Accossato states that the production method raises resistance after damage
- A single lever
- No German ABE or test mark documented; racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
A machine used casually still deserves a control that is right. The AGD316 keeps the shape of the brake lever the 450XC-F was built with, so the geometry at the master cylinder and the reach for the fingers stay as designed, and the bike remains standard rather than becoming a collection of parts chosen at different times. Accossato lists it among its original spare parts types, a programme aimed at value for money, and says that the process used to produce these levers leaves them more resistant after damage or a collision. The colour for this application is silver, and nothing further is published.
The Bike That Never Sees a Gate
Racing imposes a maintenance schedule whether the owner wants one or not, because everything is inspected between sessions and anything doubtful is replaced on the spot. A bike used for trail riding has no such discipline, and the result is a machine that quietly drifts. The lever that was bent in March is still bent in August; the pivot that felt slightly notchy in spring is now dry; the perch that was knocked round in a fall was pushed back by hand and never properly reset. None of it stops the bike, which is exactly the problem, because the rider adapts to each small change without registering it and only notices on the day something is asked of the machine. The cure is to invent a schedule. Pick two points in the year, or every fifth ride, and go over the cockpit properly: both levers off, bolts and bores cleaned, wear and play checked, everything greased and refitted, anything bent replaced rather than accepted. Sight along the bar to confirm it is symmetrical and check that the perch clamps hold their position without being crushed. On a 450XC-F used for trails that takes half an hour twice a season and keeps the controls feeling the way they did when the bike was new, which is the whole reason for buying a machine of this kind.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGD316 for the 450XC-F from 2014 to 2018 and gives the AGS14 on the clutch side from 2013 to 2018, so the handlebar is covered on both ends by a single entry each. The brake code is shared across a long list of related machines and is catalogued with us for the Husqvarna FC 350, the Husqvarna FE 250 and the Husqvarna TE 125 as well. Riders who want a tuning part rather than a plain spare will find Accossato's CNC levers for the 450XC-F under B8283 and C7283.
Road Approval
For the AGD316 no approval papers exist in our records, so neither a German ABE nor a test mark is claimed here, and the lever is sold for racing and competition.
