DescriptionThe whole story▼
A surprising amount of motocross happens on ground that is not a circuit at all: a corner of a farm, a sand pit with permission, a strip of land behind a workshop that somebody has shaped with a digger. There are no marshals there and no spares van, and the nearest help is whoever came along. That is where a 350SX-F does much of its work between meetings. Accossato lists the AGD316 for it from 2014 to 2022, a silver front brake lever in the original form.
Key Features
- Front brake lever in the original form for the KTM 350SX-F
- Accossato's entry covers 2014 to 2022
- Silver
- Right of the handlebar, front brake
- An original spare parts type, priced as a spare
- Accossato reports increased resistance after damage or a fall
- A single lever per pack
- No test documents held; listed for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
The purpose of the part is to put the bike back as it was, cheaply. The AGD316 is made to the outline of the brake lever the 350SX-F carries as standard, so the fingers meet it in the usual place and the leverage at the master cylinder is unchanged. Accossato developed this range of original spare parts types around the cost of a repair rather than the cost of an upgrade, and states that the way these levers are produced leaves them more resistant once they have suffered damage or a collision. The colour listed for this fitment is silver, and no other technical information is published by the maker.
A Track Built in a Field
Practising on private ground is how most riders get quick, and it comes with its own rules. There is no ambulance and no recovery vehicle, so the machine has to be able to get you back to the gate under its own power and the rider has to be able to fix the obvious things on the spot. Levers are the obvious thing. A blade that breaks in a rut at the far end of a field turns a session into a long walk unless a spare is in the van, and the job needs one tool and no fluids, which makes it the easiest insurance in motorcycling. There are two further habits worth building on private ground. The first is to inspect after every session rather than at the end of the day: a quick look along each blade, a feel for play at the pivot, a glance at the perch clamps to see whether anything has been knocked round. The second is to keep the maintenance simple and frequent, because a track built on a farm is usually rougher and dirtier than a prepared circuit, and pivots fill with grit accordingly. Strip and grease them often, replace anything bent instead of tidying it up, and a 350SX-F used hard in a field will still have controls that feel new at the end of a season.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues the AGD316 for the 350SX-F from 2014 to 2022, with the AGS14 covering the clutch side from 2011 to 2022, so each half of the bar has exactly one original-type entry and ordering is simple. The brake code is used right across this family and is also listed with us for the Husqvarna FC 250, the Husqvarna FE 350 and the Husqvarna TC 125. For riders who want a tuning part instead of a plain replacement, Accossato's CNC levers for the 350SX-F are the B8283 and the C7283.
Road Approval
For the AGD316 no approval documentation reached us, so neither a German ABE nor a test mark is claimed, and we list the lever for racing and competition use.
