DescriptionThe whole story▼
A fair number of these bikes never see a start gate. The 250SX-F is bought as a motocross machine and then used for trail days, private practice and the occasional cross-country meeting, which means the same model can lead two quite different lives in two different sheds. The parts that wear out are the same in both, and the front brake lever is near the top of that list. Accossato lists the AGD316 for the 250SX-F from 2013 to 2022, a silver lever in the original form.
Key Features
- Front brake lever in the original form for the KTM 250SX-F
- Accossato's entry covers 2013 to 2022
- Silver
- Right-hand lever, front brake
- An original spare parts type, priced as a spare
- Accossato says the way these levers are made improves resistance after damage
- A single lever per pack
- No test papers on file; for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
The AGD316 does not try to change the bike. Its blade follows the outline of the brake lever the 250SX-F is supplied with, so whatever the machine is used for, the hand position, the leverage and the appearance stay as they were. Accossato lists it among the original spare parts types it developed for value for money, and states that the production process used leaves these levers more resistant after damage or a collision. The colour for this application is silver. Nothing else is published about the part, and this description does not go beyond what the manufacturer says.
One Bike, Two Disciplines
The way a machine is used changes what happens to its controls, and it is worth being honest about which kind of owner you are. A bike ridden in motos loses levers in sudden, obvious ways: a first-corner incident, a rut that stops the front wheel dead, a landing that goes sideways. The damage is visible and the part is replaced on the spot. A bike used for trails and long practice sessions loses them slowly instead. It falls over at walking pace in the woods, it gets picked up and ridden on, and after a few of those the blade is a little bent, the tip is a little shorter and the pivot has play, none of which is dramatic enough to force a decision. The second pattern is the more dangerous one, because the rider adapts without noticing until a descent asks for the brake to be exactly where it always was. Whichever life a 250SX-F leads, the check is the same and takes a minute: sight along the blade to see whether it is straight, hold the end and feel for movement at the pivot, then let it go and watch it return. If it is bent, replace it rather than persuading it back; metal that has been straightened is unreliable and a front brake is not the place to find that out. Riders who use one machine for both jobs usually end up keeping a spare in the van, because the trail miles and the moto miles add up on the same part.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues the AGD316 for the 250SX-F from 2013 to 2022, with the AGS14 covering the clutch side from 2007 to 2022, so each side of the handlebar has exactly one original-type entry. The brake code is used across many machines from this works and is listed in our catalogue for the Husqvarna FC 450, the Husqvarna FE 250 and the Husqvarna TE 250 as well, which can be convenient for a household with more than one bike. Accossato's CNC levers for the 250SX-F are the B8283 and the C7283.
Road Approval
For the AGD316 no German ABE and no test mark exist in our documents, because none were supplied, and the lever is therefore listed for use in racing and competition.
