DescriptionThe whole story▼
Follow the FE 501 through Accossato's brake lever list and you can read the model's history in three codes. The AGD316 covers the first years, the AGD14 the long middle stretch, and the AGD319 the 2024 machines. Each belongs to its own period, and none of them is a substitute for another. This description is about the most recent of the three: a silver replacement brake lever made to return the FE 501 to its original appearance.
Key Features
- Replacement front brake lever for the Husqvarna FE 501
- Accossato lists the 2024 model year
- Silver
- Right-hand lever for the front brake
- Described by Accossato as an original spare part for Husqvarna and GasGas machines
- Made to restore the bike to its original style
- Accossato states that it can replace the standard lever with no difference in ergonomics or resistance
- One lever; no German ABE or test mark, listed for competition
Construction and Material Quality
The AGD319 carries Accossato's own short description, which differs from the wording used for the older codes. It is an original spare part for Husqvarna and GasGas machines, intended to bring a bike back to its original style, and Accossato states that it can be fitted in place of the standard lever without any difference in ergonomics or resistance. For a 2024 FE 501 that is the entire promise, and it is a reasonable one for a spare. The lever is silver. Accossato releases no dimensions, weight or material, so none are quoted.
Three Codes, Three Periods
Reading an application list from top to bottom tells you something useful about a model. Where one code runs for six or seven seasons, the cockpit stayed much the same; where a new code appears, something changed. For an owner the practical rule follows from that: find your model year first, then the code, then confirm with the lever itself. Papers are the most reliable source for the year, and a frame number decoded by a dealer comes a close second. Once you have the code, compare the lever on the bike with our photographs, looking at the pivot end before anything else, because that is the part that must match. This matters most for a machine that has changed hands a few times, since a previous owner may have fitted whatever was available rather than the correct code, and copying what is on the bike would then repeat their mistake. If the year and the picture disagree, send us a photograph and we will sort it out before you order.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato gives the AGD319 for the FE 501 of 2024. For 2014 to 2017 the brake lever is the AGD316 and for 2018 to 2023 the AGD14. Beyond Husqvarna, the AGD319 is listed in our catalogue for the GasGas EC 300 and MC 250, and within the range it also appears under the FE 250 and the TE 300. The clutch side of the FE 501 is covered by the AGS14 and the AGS17 according to the year, and Accossato's CNC levers for this bike are the B8283, the C7283 and the C7284.
Road Approval
No approval documentation of any kind was supplied to us for the AGD319, which leaves it without a German ABE and without a test mark; it is sold for racing and competition.
