DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Scrambler Sixty2 leads a life of short journeys. It is a town bike for most of its owners, out for twenty minutes at a time, often parked in the street, sometimes left alone for a fortnight when the weather turns. Mileage accumulates slowly on a machine used that way, and it is easy to assume that nothing wears out. Brake fluid disagrees: it ages by the calendar. Accossato's TS012 replaces the cap of the rear reservoir with machined aluminium, anodised in seven colours.
Key Features
- Rear brake fluid reservoir cap for the Ducati Scrambler Sixty2
- Accossato's list covers 2016 to 2020
- Fits in place of the cap on the standard rear reservoir
- CNC-machined aluminium with anodised colour
- Seven colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, gold
- Accossato lists the same cap for many larger machines
- No German ABE with us; supplied for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium goes into Accossato's CNC machines and the TS012 comes out; anodising then gives it blue, green, black, orange, red, silver or gold. Because the colour is anodised into the surface, it copes with the street parking, rain and casual cleaning that a bike like the Scrambler Sixty2 experiences as a matter of routine. The cap is made for the rear reservoir fitted to the machines on the application list, so the brake itself stays standard. When the original cap is off, take a moment over the diaphragm beneath it: stiff, cracked or distorted, it should be replaced before anything new is put on top.
Short Trips and a Calendar, Not a Mileage
Brake fluid draws moisture out of the air, slowly but steadily, whether the motorcycle is ridden or standing under a cover. That is why the owner's manual gives an interval in time as well as in distance, and why a Scrambler Sixty2 with low mileage still needs its fluid renewed on schedule. The change belongs to a workshop and ends with a proper bleed; fitting a cap does not. What you can do is check and keep things clean. Stand the bike upright so the rear reservoir lies level, wipe the top before opening it, and lay a cloth over the paint nearby with water within reach, because a splash of fluid on lacquer has to be rinsed off at once. Look at the level between the marks and at the colour of the fluid, and if it looks dark, book the job. Then fit the TS012, tighten it with a gentle hand, and press the pedal several times in the garage. The first junction of the next short trip is the final confirmation.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Scrambler Sixty2, Accossato lists the TS012 from 2016 to 2020 as the replacement cap on the rear reservoir. The application list is the reference if anything at the rear brake has been modified. Inter-Pace also carries the same part for the Hypermotard 939, the Diavel 1260 S and Benelli's Leoncino 500 Trail, so this is a cap with a long list of homes rather than a model-specific curiosity.
Road Approval
For the TS012 no ABE and no test document have reached us, which is why it appears in the catalogue as a racing and competition part.
