DescriptionThe whole story▼
Technical cross-country sections on a 125XC-W often slow to walking pace, a rider dabbing a foot down in a rutted creek bed or on a loose, rocky step, and it is at exactly that speed, not at full throttle, that the bike is most likely to simply tip over sideways onto whatever is underneath it. For the 125XC-W built between 2017 and 2020, Accossato's PDP01N guard covers the rear disc against that kind of contact.
Key Features
- Rear brake disc guard for the KTM 125XC-W, 2017 to 2020
- Accossato part PDP01N, described by Accossato as standard protection for the rear disc
- One guard in the pack, fitted over the rear brake disc area
- Meant to shield the disc from rocks and ground contact at low speed
- No material, thickness or fixings specified by Accossato for this guard
- Also listed in our shop for several Husqvarna enduro models
- No German ABE on file; listed for racing and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato describes the PDP01N only as standard protection for the rear disc, giving no material, thickness or fitting detail for the 125XC-W or any other bike it covers, and this listing adds nothing beyond what the maker states. One guard is supplied, positioned over the disc so that a strike which would otherwise land directly on the braking surface lands on the guard instead.
A Disc Exposed When the Bike Tips Over at Walking Pace
Most of the damage a rear disc takes on a 125XC-W does not come from a high-speed crash but from the slow, awkward moments in between: a foot that slips off a wet rock, a rut that catches the front wheel and lays the bike down gently onto its side. At that speed the rear wheel often ends up resting against exactly the kind of rock or root the trail was already picking its way around, with the disc sitting at the lowest point of the wheel and first in line for contact. A guard fitted over that area takes the knock that would otherwise land on the disc's braking surface, where even a shallow scratch can affect how the pads bite afterwards on a bike as light as the 125XC-W.
Fitment and Compatibility
KTM built the 125XC-W from 2017 to 2020 before the model took a break, so check your bike's exact year against the current application list before ordering. The same PDP01N guard is also listed for several Husqvarna models, including the FC 350, FE 450 and TE 300, reflecting how closely the two brands came to share this part of the chassis.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE or comparable approval paperwork for the PDP01N, so Inter-Pace offers this guard for racing and competition use on the 125XC-W, not for road use.
Scope of Delivery
