DescriptionThe whole story▼
Because the MT-10 SP carries a genuine resale premium over the standard bike, sellers often arrange a viewing before any test ride is agreed, letting a prospective buyer look over the suspension, the swingarm and the rear wheel at close quarters. That inspection usually means getting the rear end up on a paddock stand in whatever space is available, which on a residential driveway is rarely as flat or as clean as a proper workshop floor. Accossato lists the PP019 rear axle sliders for the MT-10 SP of 2017 and 2018.
Key Features
- Rear axle sliders for the Yamaha MT-10 SP, 2017 and 2018
- Accossato PP019, supplied as a pair
- Aluminium and plastic, black
- Spacers, screws and remaining mounting parts included, according to Accossato
- PF046 front sliders and TP025 crash pads also listed for this bike
- Meant to touch down first in a slide or fall
- Same pair listed for the standard MT-10, R1 and R1M
- No German ABE on file; for track and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Both PP019 protectors are built from aluminium and plastic and finished in black, one for the left and one for the right side at the rear of the bike. Accossato's own description places the spacers, screws and every other part needed for mounting inside the kit. If a driveway inspection goes wrong and the paddock stand slips on an uneven or oily patch of concrete, the sliders are there to meet the ground first, reducing what the swingarm and the rear axle area otherwise take. A slider ground down in such a moment should be exchanged.
A Viewing on an Uneven Driveway
Driveways are built for cars to stand on, not for a paddock stand to be loaded with a motorcycle's full rear weight, and a slight slope or a patch of loose gravel that nobody thought twice about can be exactly what lets a stand slip during a buyer's inspection. Both seller and buyer are often focused on the swingarm and the chain rather than the ground underneath the stand itself, and a drop can happen quickly once the pin has not fully engaged or the surface gives way. Checking the driveway for a flat, solid spot before lifting the bike, and keeping a hand ready to steady it, both reduce the risk. If the MT-10 SP does come down during a viewing, the sliders take that first contact; check them, and the swingarm, before anything is agreed.
Fitment and Compatibility
On Accossato's list, the PP019 is tied to the MT-10 SP's 2017 and 2018 model years, which is the span we use. The PF046 sliders cover the front of the same bike, with the TP025 pads for the fairing. This rear slider design is shared in our shop with the standard MT-10, the R1 and the R1M as well. Where your SP does not fit neatly into those two years, send us the details before ordering.
Road Approval
No ABE or test mark has been supplied to us for the PP019, so we list it for racing and competition purposes.
