DescriptionThe whole story▼
Away from dealer forecourts, most GSX-S1000F owners meet the bike's natural habitat in the daily commute, filtering between queued cars on a ring road or threading through roadworks on the way home. Filtering rewards patience and punishes impatience in equal measure: a wing mirror clipped, a gap that closes as a driver changes lane without signalling, a stop that comes a fraction too late on a greasy junction. Accossato's PP077 gives the GSX-S1000F of 2015 to 2020 two black rear axle sliders.
Key Features
- Rear axle sliders for the Suzuki GSX-S1000F, 2015 to 2020
- Accossato PP077, a left and a right protector
- Aluminium and plastic construction, finished in black
- Spacers, screws and further mounting parts supplied, according to Accossato
- Front axle sliders PF054 and TP087 crash pads also listed for this bike
- Sacrificial parts, replaced once they show a heavy impact
- No German ABE documented; offered for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
The PP077 pairs aluminium with plastic in each of its two black protectors, one for the left and one for the right side at the rear of the GSX-S1000F. Accossato packs the spacers, screws and other mounting parts into the same kit. If the bike slides or tips over, the sliders are designed to meet the ground ahead of the swingarm and the rear axle area, and by taking that contact first they can reduce what those parts suffer. They cannot promise a scratch-free outcome, and a slider that has ground down is treated as a consumable and swapped out.
Filtering Without the Drama
Filtering is legal in plenty of places and sensible nowhere near the speed difference people imagine. On the GSX-S1000F, keep your speed low relative to the stationary traffic, cover the front brake and watch for the classic traps: a car door opening without warning, a pedestrian stepping between vehicles, a driver edging forward to change lanes while looking only in the mirror. Roadworks compress the usual gaps further, and loose cones, metal plates and painted lines all reduce grip exactly where you most need it. If a gap closes suddenly and there is nowhere to go, a controlled, low-speed tip-over against a stationary car or a kerb is almost always the safer outcome than forcing the bike through. Afterwards, check the sliders along with the mirror and the lever before riding on, since a knock that felt minor can still mark a protector that then needs replacing.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the PP077 for the GSX-S1000F from 2015 to 2020, which is how we have catalogued it, two years longer than the front PF054 sliders for the same bike. In our shop, the PP077 is also listed for the GSX-S1000. The PF054 front sliders and the TP087 crash pads complete the protection on this model. Compare your GSX-S1000F with the application list before ordering, or ask us to check it for you, and once the sliders are on, spin the rear wheel to make sure nothing rubs.
Road Approval
We hold no test certificate or ABE for the PP077, and for that reason it is sold for track and competition use.
