DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato 19x20 is the sharpest-reacting brake master cylinder in this dual-disc range, pairing the 19 mm piston with a fixed 20 mm pivot distance that shortens lever stroke at the cost of needing a firmer pull. Accossato does not recommend this setting for the road, positioning it instead for track and competition use where the quickest possible lever response matters more than light effort. The fixed lever, long version with a relieving eyelet, is offered in seven colours on a CNC-machined, black anodised body made in Italy.
Key Features
- 19 mm piston diameter, sized for dual-disc front brake systems
- Fixed 20 mm pivot distance, the sharpest, shortest-stroke setting in the range
- Fixed lever, long version, with relieving eyelet (RST)
- Seven lever colours with a colour-matched adjusting knob
- CNC-machined aluminium body with black anodised finish
- Offset riser that limits master cylinder deflection under hard braking
- Stainless steel screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
The body of this master cylinder is CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised black as part of Accossato's Italian production. Mounting screws are stainless steel, the bleed valve is galvanised steel, and the internal seals are a Formula 1 compound able to withstand sustained heat and brake fluid exposure. An off-set riser in the clamp reduces flex under hard braking loads, and the internal geometry is shaped to cut the passive stroke, the part of the lever pull before the pads actually bite, by more than half compared with a standard radial unit, a detail that matters most at exactly the pivot setting this part uses.
The Shortest Stroke in the Range
At 20 mm, the pivot distance on this master cylinder is the longest Accossato offers on the dual-disc 19 mm piston, and a longer distance between the pivot and the pushrod means the lever has to travel less for the same amount of fluid displacement. Accossato is explicit that this trades away ease of use: the same hand force produces less braking effect than on the shorter 18 or 19 mm settings, so more strength is needed at the lever, which is why the manufacturer does not recommend it for street riding and instead points it at track and competition use. For riders chasing the shortest possible lever stroke and the fastest brake response once the lever is pulled, this is the setting built for that job, and the fixed lever keeps the feel consistent under that harder pull.
Fitment and Compatibility
65 motorcycles sit on the fitment list for this brake master cylinder, Suzuki's GSX-R family prominent, the GSX-R600, GSX-R750 and GSX-R1000R, alongside Kawasaki's Ninja H2 and H2R. The Fitment tab on this page gives the exact years for every model; check it against your own registration before ordering.
Road Approval
This brake master cylinder carries no ABE documented for this part number, so it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The package contains the Accossato CL029 radial master cylinder complete with the long fixed lever with relieving eyelet (RST), in the lever colour selected, and the matching colour-anodised adjusting knob. Stainless steel mounting screws and the galvanised bleed valve are fitted; the stop light switch and fluid reservoir are not included and are ordered separately (switch under code ID001 or ID002, reservoir as a standalone item).
