DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato 19x18 fixed-lever brake master cylinder gives the same dual-disc piston sizing and 18 mm pivot distance as its folding-lever sibling, but with a rigid lever that has no joint to flex or fold away under normal use. Riders who prefer a lever that feels completely solid when pulled, with no pivot point beyond the bar clamp itself, choose this fixed configuration. The body is CNC-machined aluminium, black anodised and made in Italy, with the long lever carrying a relieving eyelet and offered in seven colours to match the rest of the cockpit.
Key Features
- 19 mm piston diameter, sized for dual-disc front brake systems
- Fixed 18 mm lever pivot distance for track use that also suits the road
- Fixed lever, long version, with relieving eyelet (RST), no folding joint
- Seven lever colours with a colour-matched adjusting knob
- CNC-machined aluminium body with black anodised finish
- Offset riser that limits master cylinder deflection under hard braking
- Stainless steel screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
Like the rest of the range, this unit is CNC-machined from aluminium and finished with a black anodised coating applied in Italy. Stainless steel is used for every mounting screw, the bleed valve is galvanised steel, and the bore seals are made from Formula 1 compound so they keep their shape under the heat and chemical load of brake fluid over years of use. The clamp carries an off-set riser that resists bending when the lever is pulled with force, and the passive stroke, the travel before the pads make contact, is reduced by more than 50 percent against a standard radial master cylinder, so braking response arrives sooner in the lever pull.
A Fixed Lever on a Dual-Disc Piston
At 19 mm, the piston in this master cylinder is sized by Accossato for dual-disc brake systems, where two callipers need to be fed evenly from one lever pull. The 18 mm pivot distance is fixed rather than adjustable, a setting Accossato rates for track use and also recommends for the road, giving consistent leverage every time the lever is pulled. What sets this version apart from its folding counterpart is the lever itself: it is a rigid, fixed design with no joint between the blade and the clamp, so there is nothing to flex, fold or wear loose at the pivot over time, only the single folding point at the bar mount that protects the lever if the bike goes down. Riders who find a folding joint introduces a trace of play prefer this fixed arrangement for its completely solid feel.
Fitment and Compatibility
65 motorcycles appear in the confirmed fitment data for this brake master cylinder, Honda's sports and sport-touring line well represented through the CBR 1000 RR, VFR1200F and RC213V-S, alongside Kawasaki's ZX-10R and ZX-10RR. The Fitment tab on this page carries every model and year in full; check your own registration against it before ordering.
Road Approval
This brake master cylinder carries no ABE documented for this part number, so it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The package contains the Accossato CL023 radial master cylinder complete with the long fixed lever with relieving eyelet (RST), in the lever colour selected, and the matching colour-anodised adjusting knob. Stainless steel mounting screws and the galvanised bleed valve are fitted; the stop light switch and fluid reservoir are not included and are ordered separately (switch under code ID001 or ID002, reservoir as a standalone item).
