DescriptionThe whole story▼
This folding-lever 17x18 keeps the same 17 mm piston, suited to callipers with mounting bolts 32 mm apart or closer, and the same balanced 18 mm pivot distance as the fixed-lever version, but with a lever designed to hinge back rather than snap under an impact. The relieving eyelet, lever colour range and matching adjusting knob all carry over unchanged, and the body is finished in the same natural anodising used across this part of the range.
Key Features
- 17 mm piston diameter, suggested for motorcycles with calliper mounting bolts 32 mm apart or less
- 18 mm fixed lever pivot distance for track use, also recommended for street riding
- Folding lever, long version, with a relieving eyelet (RST)
- Lever supplied in a choice of colours, with a matching adjusting knob
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
- Offset riser that limits master cylinder flex under hard braking
- Passive lever stroke reduced by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial master cylinder
- Stainless steel mounting screws, zinced bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals
Construction and Material Quality
Like every unit in this part of the range, the 17x18 is forged from aluminium, CNC machined and finished in natural anodising, all carried out in Italy. Stainless steel is used for the screws, the bleed valve is zinced steel, and the seals are Formula 1 compound, resistant to the heat and chemical wear of repeated braking. An offset riser built into the clamp limits flex of the body under hard use, and the bore and internal passages are shaped to more than halve the passive stroke compared with a conventional radial unit. Hoses fit via the M10x1 thread used throughout the Accossato range.
Folding Lever on the 17 mm Master Cylinder
The braking characteristics of this unit are identical to the fixed-lever 17x18: a 17 mm piston matched to narrower calliper mounting patterns, and an 18 mm pivot distance suited to both track days and street use. The only change is at the lever itself, which folds back under an impact instead of breaking, a practical benefit whenever the bike is dropped, knocked over, or simply handled roughly while parked. Riders who already know this piston and pivot combination suits their calliper and riding style can pick this version purely for the added resilience the folding design offers.
Fitment and Compatibility
This 17 mm master cylinder has no published vehicle list; it is offered as a universal unit for 22 mm handlebar clamps. Measure your own bars before ordering, confirm your brake system suits a 17 mm bore, and check that your calliper's mounting bolts sit 32 mm apart or closer.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.

The stop light switch, available separately as ID001 or ID002, and the fluid reservoir are not included and must be purchased separately.
