DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato PK033 radial brake master cylinder combines a 16 mm piston, sized for single-disc front brakes, with a fixed 16 mm lever pivot distance that Accossato describes as the softest setting in the range, trading a slightly longer lever stroke for a lighter pull. The integrated fluid reservoir and the long folding lever, fitted with a relieving eyelet, round out the unit, with the lever offered in seven colours.
Key Features
- 16 mm piston diameter, suitable for single-disc braking systems
- Fixed 16 mm lever pivot distance, the softest setting, with a longer lever stroke
- Integrated fluid reservoir with a colour-matched cover, adjusting knob and oil level marker
- Folding lever, long version, with relieving eyelet (RST), seven colours available
- Forged aluminium body with a CNC-worked cover and lever
- Offset riser that reduces bending of the master cylinder while braking
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
This master cylinder shares the forged aluminium body and CNC-worked cover and lever used across the integrated-reservoir brake range, with the reservoir cover, adjusting knob and oil level marker finished to match the lever. Stainless steel mounting screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals make up the hardware. An offset riser limits flex under hard braking, and the passive lever stroke, already shortened compared with a conventional radial master cylinder, is tuned here toward a lighter pull rather than the sharpest possible bite.
A Softer Pivot for a Broader Range of Riding
Accossato positions the 16 mm pivot distance as the softest setting available on this piston size, meaning less hand force is needed to apply the brake than with the firmer 18 mm pivot fitted to sibling codes in the range, at the cost of a longer lever stroke before the pads bite. That trade-off suits the kind of varied, everyday riding typical of the adventure, touring and naked machines this part number is confirmed for, where a light, predictable lever action on a long day in the saddle often matters more than the sharpest possible initial bite. The 16 mm piston itself is specified for single-disc front brakes, matching the braking systems fitted to the bulk of the motorcycles in this fitment list.
Fitment and Compatibility
This master cylinder is listed against 54 motorcycles in our fitment data, including the Aprilia DORSODURO 1200 (2011-2016), Honda NT1100 (2022-2023), Kawasaki Z650 (2017-2023) and Suzuki GSR750 (2011-2016), across Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki ranges.
