DescriptionThe whole story▼
This fixed-lever version of the Accossato 16x16 radial brake master cylinder keeps the same 16 mm single-disc piston and the softest, 16 mm pivot distance in the range, so lever force stays light and the stroke before the pads bite stays on the longer side. Without a folding joint, the lever holds one set position and gives a slightly more solid feel at the blade, which suits riders who rarely drop the bike or who simply prefer a traditional, non-folding lever on a naked or adventure machine ridden mostly on the road.
Key Features
- 16 mm piston diameter, suited to single-disc front brake systems
- 16 mm pivot distance, the softest and lightest lever setting Accossato offers
- Fixed lever, long version, fitted with a relieving eyelet (RST)
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
- Offset riser that reduces master cylinder deflection during braking
- Passive lever stroke cut by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial unit
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
Produced in Italy from CNC-machined aluminium billet, the body is finished with a natural anodised coating. Stainless steel is used for the screws, galvanised steel for the bleed valve, and the internal seals are made of Formula 1 compound, a specification carried through the whole Accossato range for heat and fluid resistance. An offset riser built into the clamp area reduces flex during braking, and the passive stroke before the pads make contact is reduced by more than half relative to a standard radial master cylinder, regardless of whether the lever is fixed or folding.
Fixed Lever Ergonomics on the 16x16 Brake Master Cylinder
With no secondary pivot at the lever itself, a fixed lever transmits hand input to the piston through one joint only, which keeps the feel consistent and free of any play that can develop at a folding hinge over time. On the 16 mm piston and 16 mm pivot distance used here, Accossato's softest brake setting, that translates into a light, progressive lever pull suited to road riding, where the lack of fold-away protection matters less than on a bike that spends time on a race stand or in a crowded paddock.
Fitment and Compatibility
The same 54-motorcycle fitment list applies here as on the folding version of this 16x16 setting, covering BMW's F-, G- and R-series alongside Kawasaki, Suzuki and Honda naked and adventure models such as the Kawasaki Versys 1000, Suzuki V-Strom 1050, Honda NT1100 and BMW R1250RT. The Fitment tab lists every model with the exact years covered, since coverage differs between early and late examples of some platforms. Check single-disc braking and piston size first on any motorcycle not shown.
Road Approval
This master cylinder has no ABE documented; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Supplied in the box is the Accossato radial brake master cylinder itself, assembled and ready to fit, together with its mounting hardware. The brake light switch is not included and can be ordered separately under part number ID001 or ID002. The fluid reservoir is likewise not included and is available separately in several styles to suit the handlebar layout.
