DescriptionThe whole story▼
At the top of the 14 mm pivot scale sits the 14x20, a configuration Accossato does not recommend for street use at all. The 20 mm pivot distance shortens the lever stroke for a given hand movement but asks for more force to reach full braking power, which is why the manufacturer positions it strictly as a track setting rather than an everyday one. The 14 mm piston carries over unchanged from the rest of the family, the lever is fixed, long and fitted with a relieving eyelet, and the body is finished in natural anodised aluminium with the lever available in several colours.
Key Features
- 14 mm piston diameter, suggested for scooters and smaller motorcycles
- 20 mm fixed lever pivot distance, the firmest setting in the 14 mm range, not recommended for street use
- Fixed lever, long version, with a relieving eyelet (RST)
- Lever supplied in a choice of colours, with a matching adjusting knob
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
- Offset riser that limits master cylinder flex under hard braking
- Passive lever stroke reduced by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial master cylinder
- Stainless steel mounting screws, zinced bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals
Construction and Material Quality
This 14 mm unit follows the same manufacturing route as the rest of its family: forged aluminium, machined on CNC centres, then anodised natural in colour, entirely within Italy. Stainless steel fixings, a zinced bleed valve and seals of Formula 1 compound are specified to deal with the extra heat that the firmer 20 mm pivot setting tends to generate during hard, repeated track braking. An offset riser built into the clamp resists bending under that load, and the bore geometry more than halves the passive stroke against a standard radial unit. The hose thread remains the usual M10x1.
Why the 20 mm Pivot Is for Track Use Only
Accossato's own guidance for the 20 mm pivot distance is unambiguous: it is the prompter version of the 14 mm family, since the lever stroke shortens for the same amount of hand travel, but the trade-off is that more physical force is needed to reach full braking power, and it is explicitly not recommended for street use. This sits at the opposite end of the scale from the 18 mm pivot, which Accossato rates for both track and road, and the 19 mm mixed setting in between. Riders choosing the 14x20 are usually prioritising outright response in a controlled track environment over the easier, more forgiving pull that the softer pivot settings give on the road.
Fitment and Compatibility
This master cylinder has no published list of compatible motorcycles; it is a universal 14 mm unit built for 22 mm handlebar clamps. Riders should check their own bar diameter, confirm the brake system is designed around a 14 mm piston, and verify the calliper and disc pairing before buying, since no vehicle data narrows the fitment here.
Road Approval
This master cylinder is not supplied with German road-approval documentation; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The package includes the Accossato 14x20 radial brake master cylinder fitted with the fixed, long lever with relieving eyelet, in the colour selected, together with the matching mounting nut. Stainless steel mounting screws, the zinced bleed valve and the Formula 1 compound seals are assembled on the unit. The stop light switch, available separately as ID001 or ID002, and the fluid reservoir are not included and must be purchased separately.
