DescriptionThe whole story▼
A shared paddock at a track day can have a dozen similar bikes parked in a row, and the PZ004 in fluorescent red coated finish is bright enough to pick a bike out at a glance from across the pit lane. It is the same forged monobloc radial caliper as the rest of the range underneath: 108 mm centre distance, 22.5 mm offset, four 34 mm aluminium pistons, a fitted dust seal and AGPA134 pads already in place. The fluorescent coating is simply a brighter shade than the standard red offered elsewhere in the PZ004 line-up.
Key Features
- Radial brake caliper, forged monobloc body, made in Italy
- Fluorescent red coated finish
- 108 mm centre distance, 22.5 mm offset
- Four aluminium pistons, 34 mm diameter
- Dust seal fitted
- Pads included, code AGPA134, compound OR, ST or ZXC
- Listed for 76 models in our garage, see the Fitment tab
- Supplied as a left caliper, right caliper or matched pair
Construction and Material Quality
The caliper body for this finish is forged, then machined on five-axis CNC centres with checks on three-dimensional measuring equipment, exactly as for every other PZ004 listing, before a hard oxidation treatment and the fluorescent red coating go on. Four 34 mm aluminium pistons sit inside, protected by a fitted dust seal, and the AGPA134 pads are mounted before despatch. The brightness of the coating does not change the body, pistons or seal underneath it.
A Colour Chosen to Stand Out
Riders who swap bikes between sessions, lend a bike to someone else for a lap, or simply want to find their machine quickly among rows of similar paddock bikes often pick a fluorescent finish for exactly that reason. It carries no technical advantage over the standard red, blue or any other PZ004 colour; Accossato applies the same manufacturing and the same hardware whichever shade is ordered, and the fluorescent pigment only affects how visible the caliper is in daylight. It is a practical choice as much as a stylistic one when a bike needs to be spotted quickly.
Fitment and Compatibility
This caliper appears against 76 models in our garage, see the Fitment tab, with the Honda CB1000R, Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX and Honda CBR1000RR SP among them. There are 120 fitment entries recorded for the PZ004 in total, each one specific to a model year, and that tab is the place to check before heading to a track day with an unfamiliar bike. Outside that list, matching the 108 mm centre distance and 22.5 mm offset against the disc and mount already fitted confirms compatibility.
Road Approval
No ABE is documented for this caliper in Germany, so fitting it to a road-registered bike needs registering with the responsible authority before public road use. A qualified workshop should carry out the fitting, given that the brake system is safety-relevant.
Scope of Delivery
1x Accossato PZ004 forged monobloc radial brake caliper in fluorescent red coated finish, supplied as a left caliper, right caliper or matched pair depending on the option chosen, with aluminium pistons, dust seal and pads in the selected compound already fitted.
