DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato KITA2 combines the same radial brake master cylinder used across Accossato's CY-version kits with the manufacturer's own CF002 cable-operated clutch. The master cylinder is forged and naturally anodised, built around a 19 mm piston suggested for dual-disc systems, and fitted with the folding lever rather than the PRS or Ready To Brake versions, which Accossato does not include in this kit. The CF002 clutch brings its own folding lever in CNC-worked, anodised aluminium, with the distance between handlebar grip and lever set by a coloured adjusting knob rather than by changing the lever's own length, which Accossato keeps standard.
Key Features
- Radial forged brake master cylinder, CY version, 19 mm piston, natural anodising
- Folding lever version; the PRS and Ready To Brake versions are not included
- Accossato Cable Full Clutch CF002, folding CNC-worked aluminium lever, anodised in various colours
- "Click" cable adjustment with a handle-to-grip distance adjuster built into the clutch
- Four distance settings: 24 mm, 29 mm, 32 mm and 34 mm
- Clutch lever supplied with a lightening eyelet (RST) or without (NRST)
- Version option covers eight lever and clutch-distance combinations
Construction and Material Quality
As with Accossato's other CY-version kits, the master cylinder body is forged and finished with natural anodising, and its 19 mm piston is the size Accossato suggests for dual-disc brake systems. The CF002 clutch lever is a separate CNC-machined and anodised aluminium part, folding rather than fixed, and offered in a range of colours; Accossato notes that its standard-length lever can be ordered with a lightening eyelet cut into its face, code RST, or left plain, code NRST, independent of whichever distance the adjuster is set to.
How the Clutch's Distance Adjuster Changes Its Feel
The CF002's adjusting knob, matched in colour to the lever itself, sets the distance between the handlebar grip and the lever across four positions: 24 mm, 29 mm, 32 mm or 34 mm. Accossato spells out the trade-off directly: with a longer distance, the same movement of the lever draws in more cable, so the clutch releases earlier but needs more hand strength to pull; with a shorter distance, the same lever movement draws in less cable, so the clutch needs a firmer pull to release but takes less strength overall. Accossato recommends checking the distance currently in use before deciding whether to lengthen or shorten it. A micro-switch setup can be added under code MI001, and a mirror holder, not included with this clutch, can be bought separately under codes MH005 or MH006.
Fitment and Compatibility
The KITA2 is not listed against specific motorcycle models in our garage; it is a universal radial master cylinder and clutch kit rather than a vehicle-specific part. Fitting it means checking the handlebar clamp diameter at the master cylinder's mounting point, the routing and fitting of the existing clutch cable, and which side of the handlebar the clutch lever sits on. As with any brake and clutch component swap, installation should be carried out by a qualified workshop.
Road Approval
Accossato documents no ABE for the KITA2. Fitting a radial brake master cylinder and cable clutch in place of the standard components is subject to compulsory registration for road use in Germany, so this should be confirmed with an approval body before the motorcycle goes back on the road. The braking system is safety-relevant, so fitting by a qualified workshop is recommended.
