DescriptionThe whole story▼
For the Yamaha R6 (2017–2024), Accossato fits its quick throttle control with the two-tone GR006 grip in the MY008 kit. The grip's two-colour scheme is offered in five combinations, independent of the eight anodised cap colours on the housing. Built from two CNC-machined aluminium half-rings, the housing comes with the YA014 cable set for the R6 and three internal cams of 40, 43 and 45 mm to set how far and how fast the throttle turns.
Key Features
- Two-piece CNC-machined aluminium throttle housing
- GR006 two-tone racing grip, five colour combinations
- Eight anodised cap colour options
- Accossato YA014 cable set specific to the Yamaha R6
- Three interchangeable internal cams (40, 43, 45 mm)
- Adjustable throttle response and rotation stroke
- Made in Italy, checked before being placed on the market
Construction and Material Quality
The housing fitted here is built the same way as the rest of the range, cut in two aluminium halves and anodised in a choice of eight cap colours. What sets the MY008 apart on the shelf is the GR006 grip's own two-tone finish, picked from five combinations and sold independently of the cap colour. Inside the housing, the familiar three cams of 40, 43 and 45 mm are there to be swapped as the throttle's response needs adjusting, with no other part affected by the change.
Keeping Track of Hand Position
A two-tone grip gives a visible marker that a single-colour grip does not, useful on a bike that spends time on track where a rider's hand position relative to the grip's edge can matter when braking hard into a corner. The GR006 option on the R6 carries that same split-colour look across to a smaller, more flickable machine than the R1 it also fits, and the five combinations on offer leave room to match it to race leathers or a number board rather than only to the bike's own paint. On a bike that changes hands between a street and a track setup through the season, that same two-tone marker also makes it easy to tell at a glance, from the pit wall, which rider is coming past on track.
Fitment and Compatibility
This kit is built for the Yamaha R6 (2017–2024), using the YA014 cable set cut to that model's routing; exact production years are detailed in the Fitment tab on this page. The YA014 cables are specific to the R6 and are not shared with the YA013 set used on the R1 family.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the MY008; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use. As with any throttle control, make sure the grip returns on its own to the idle position once fitted.
