DescriptionThe whole story▼
The MY008 brings Accossato's two-tone GR006 racing grip to the Yamaha R1M (2015–2018), built around the same quick throttle housing used across this range. The two-tone finish is offered in five combinations, separate from the eight anodised cap colours, and the kit ships with the YA013 cable set cut for the R1M plus three internal cams (40, 43, 45 mm) that set how the throttle responds.
Key Features
- Two-piece CNC-machined aluminium housing, anodised in eight cap colours
- GR006 two-tone racing grip, five colour combinations
- YA013 Accossato cable set for the Yamaha R1M
- Three internal cams (40, 43, 45 mm) to adjust response
- Compatible with the related Yamaha R1 (2015–2019)
- Made in Italy, checked before being placed on the market
Construction and Material Quality
The ring halves that make up the housing are worked from aluminium and anodised afterwards in one of eight cap shades; the GR006 grip fitted to this kit carries its own two-tone scheme, picked from five combinations rather than the cap's eight. Three cams travel with every kit regardless of grip choice, cut to 40, 43 and 45 mm, and swapping between them is how the throttle's pick-up and the grip's turning distance are changed, without any other part needing to come off.
Shared Hardware, One Kit Apart
Accossato treats the R1 and R1M as close enough mechanically that the same YA013 cable set and the same GR006 grip option cover both, with only the fitment reference changing between the two listings. For an owner running an R1M alongside a standard R1, or replacing a kit after a crash, that means the same part number applies whichever of the two is in the garage, down to the grip colour and the cam set. The only distinction Accossato draws between them in its own data is the model name and the production years, not the hardware itself, which keeps spares simple for anyone with both bikes.
Fitment and Compatibility
This listing is built for the Yamaha R1M (2015–2018); the standard R1 (2015–2019) takes the identical cable set and grip, which Accossato confirms as compatible. Years for both are detailed in the Fitment tab. As with the rest of the range, the kit replaces the factory throttle control and cables as one unit, leaving nothing from the original assembly in place.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the MY008; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use. As with any throttle control, make sure the grip returns on its own to the idle position once fitted.
