DescriptionThe whole story▼
The MY008 pairs Accossato's quick throttle control with GR006 two-tone racing grips, built for the Yamaha R1 (2015–2019). The housing is formed from two CNC-worked aluminium half-rings, anodised in a choice of eight cap colours, with the two-tone grips offered in five. Accossato supplies the kit with its own YA013 cable set, matched to the R1's control layout, and with three interchangeable internal cams of 40, 43 and 45 mm diameter, so the throttle's response and the grip's rotation stroke can be adjusted to suit riding on road or track.
Key Features
- Two-piece CNC-machined aluminium throttle housing
- Eight anodised cap colour options
- GR006 two-tone racing grips in five colours
- Includes Accossato YA013 cable set specific to the Yamaha R1
- Three interchangeable internal cams (40, 43, 45 mm)
- Adjustable throttle response and rotation stroke
- Made in Italy, checked before being placed on the market
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the throttle housing from two aluminium half-rings, then anodises them in any of eight cap colours, so the control can be finished to match the rest of the bike rather than left in a single factory shade. The GR006 grips carry their own two-tone colour scheme, offered in five combinations, separate from the cap finish. Inside, three cams of 40, 43 and 45 mm are supplied together; swapping between them is the only step needed to change how quickly the throttle opens and how far the grip rotates to reach full throttle.
Setting Up for Trackdays
Riders taking the R1 onto a circuit tend to want a sharper throttle than the stock control gives, and the three cams supplied with the MY008 let that be dialled in without buying a separate part: fitting the 40 mm cam shortens the rotation needed for full throttle, while the 45 mm cam spreads it over a longer stroke for finer control at low lean angles. Because the cams simply swap inside the same housing, the setting can be changed between sessions as a rider's confidence with the bike builds, rather than being fixed at the point of purchase. The two-tone GR006 grip also gives a visual reference for hand position at a glance, useful when checking footage or photos from a session.
Fitment and Compatibility
The MY008 is built for the Yamaha R1 (2015–2019), with the YA013 cable set cut to that model's routing; Accossato also lists it as compatible with the closely related R1M (2015–2018), which shares the same throttle mounting and cable path. Exact production years sit in the Fitment tab on this page. Because the kit replaces the factory throttle assembly and cables together, no mixing with the stock cable is needed or possible once it is fitted.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the MY008; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use. As with any throttle control, make sure the grip returns on its own to the idle position once the kit is fitted.
