DescriptionThe whole story▼
The MY004 combines Accossato's quick throttle control with the GR002 racing grip, aimed at the Yamaha R1M (2015–2018). GR002 is supplied in a single, fixed finish rather than a range of shades, so the only colour decision left is the anodised cap, available in eight options. The housing is the familiar two-piece aluminium ring, CNC-machined and anodised, and the kit includes the YA013 cable set cut for the R1M along with three internal cams (40, 43, 45 mm) for setting the throttle's response.
Key Features
- Two-piece CNC-machined aluminium throttle housing
- GR002 racing grip in a fixed finish
- Eight anodised cap colour options
- Accossato YA013 cable set specific to the Yamaha R1M
- Three interchangeable internal cams (40, 43, 45 mm)
- Adjustable throttle response and rotation stroke
- Made in Italy, checked before being placed on the market
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato builds the housing the same way across the range: two aluminium half-rings, machined and anodised, available in eight cap colours. The GR002 grip breaks from that pattern by not offering a colour choice of its own; it is supplied in one finish, which Accossato pairs with the kit rather than leaving it as a separate purchase decision. Inside sit the same three cams found in every kit in this family, 40, 43 and 45 mm, swapped by hand to change how quickly the throttle opens and how far the grip turns to reach it.
A Kit With Fewer Decisions
Compared with the GR001 and GR006 grips offered alongside it, the GR002 fitted to the MY004 removes one variable from the order: there is no grip colour to pick, only the cap. For a rider who wants Accossato's throttle control and cable set without spending time on a colour scheme, that is one less choice to make, and it leaves the cap colour as the single way to personalise the kit's look. Everything else, from the cable routing to the cam set, is identical to the other grip options built around the same housing, so swapping between MY002, MY004 and MY008 later only changes the grip, not the cables or the cams.
Fitment and Compatibility
The YA013 cable set in this kit is cut for the Yamaha R1M (2015–2018); Accossato also lists the R1 (2015–2019) as compatible, sharing the same cable path. Exact years for both models are set out in the Fitment tab. The kit replaces the stock throttle assembly and its cables together, so no parts from the original control are reused.
Road Approval
There is no ABE or parts certificate documented by Accossato for the MY004; registration rules depend on the country, so check before road use. As with any throttle control, make sure the grip returns on its own to the idle position once fitted.
